All in all I like the credit system. I think it will be more usefull overall. i almost bought another companies software bc they had the individual vins. I have spoken my peace about the small glitch in the system. I have bought the software/hardware anyway.
But beware to HPT future customers. The 8 initial credits arn't worth as much as 8 purchased seperately

Why is LS2 support Model/Year more $$$$???? Because its new is not a reason.
This whats really bothering me.
people are telling me just charge more tunes.
So when does the charging more stop??

There's only 1 year for the LS2 motor... the 05 and 06 PCMs aren't he same, so they have to hack both...
With only 1 year, the # of potential customers is considerably lower than that of LS1 folks where there was 7-8 years or cars that the product can be sold to.
It boils down to time to create the product vs the number of estimated copies to be sold... It makes perfect sense that the LS2 support would cost more than LS1 support... figure w/the LS1s, for every 10,000 cars they make, say 100 will buy an editor.... that's prolly high (1%) but still... now figure the same applies to LS2s... in 05 how many were sold? maybe 50k? so that's maybe 500 sales using the same 1% as above.... but look at LS1 trucks, Vettes, and F-Bodys... there's prolly 600k+ of them easy... it's a much larger market
Not to mention that the 05 and 06 PCMs are new and require new comm protocols, seperate communication to the TCM and ECM, etc...

bottom line: It will only cost you 500 bucks to tune just your car. plus you'll still have a few credits left over for the next car or resale what ever. Just buy the standard if you don't plan on neading the wide band, or doing speed density tunes (i believe, correct if wrong please.)

well if you plan all that then you might want to invest in the pro edition, yes it is 650 but it was also 650 before the new price scheme. besides you'll have to buy the 02 sensors which are about 200 i believe. IMHO, yes the enhanced I/O would be worth it in your situation. hell might even want to use one of your credits to pick up the 1 bar speed density.
edit-plus if you don't order it now, you'll end up paying the 140 buck idiot tax. might want to wait on the people who really know what they're talking about to chime in though.

What happens if I need to re-load Windows on my Laptop and re-install HP Tuners. How does it remember the license options that are activated? What if I buy a new Laptop and install Hp Tuners, does it store the license info in the interface unit?
