Default How to kill torque managment with M6, to be sure its not affecting anythign.

Would there be any other drawbacks? If it cant hurt Id just go ahead and get rid of it. Will it affect TCS function-hopefully it would make it not work <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I too am curious about the affects of removing TQ from an M6.

I assume you mean increasing the Max Torque value from the default of 350? I've seen conflicting reports on this, but it's easy to change, test, then change back. I'm not convinced that "normal" traction control is impacted, as my car did fine in the rain with a value of 400. Here's the service manual definition of torque management:

From my 2002 service manual:

Torque Management (TM) is a function of the PCM that reduces engine power under certain conditions. TM is performed for the following reasons:

1. To prevent overstress of the powertrain components.
2. To reduce engine power during certain throttle actuator control (TAC) system faults.
3. To limit the engine power when the brakes are applied more than approximately 40%.
4. To prevent damage to the vehicle during certain abusive maneuvers.

The PCM monitors the following sensors and engine parameters to calculate engine output torque.

- Air/Fuel ratio
- Mass Air Flow (MAF)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP)
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT)
- Spark Advance
- Engine Speed
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)
- A/C Clutch Status

The PCM monitors the torque converter status, the transmission gear ratio, and the extended brake switch input in order to determine if torque reduction is required. The PCM retards the spark as appropriate to reduce engine torque output if torque reduction is required. The PCM also shuts off the fuel to certain injectors to reduce the engine power in the case of an abusive maneuver.
The following are instances when engine power reduction is likely to be expected:

- During transmission upshifts and downshifts
- Heavy acceleration from a standing start
- The brakes are applied with moderate to heavy throttle (with the traction system active).
- When the driver is performing harsh or abusive maneuvers, such as shifting into gear at high throttle angles or shifting the transmission from reverse to drive to create a rocking motion.

The driver is unlikely to notice the torque management actions in the first two instances. The engine power output will be moderate at full throttle in the other two cases.
The PCM calculates the amount of spark retard necessary to reduce the engine power by the desired amount. The PCM disables the fuel injectors for cylinders 1, 4, 6, and 7, in case of an abusive maneuver.

TooManyIDs,
Does your manual say anything about TM with regard to the M6 specifically?

One of my first upgrades to my PCM was to instruct Ed Wright to delete my TM and to answer your question about do you see more Power, Tq, yes as the TM acts like a limiter to safely keep you within a certain tq curve...

Feels good to get the max out of your ls1!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Is the TM only on when TC is ON???

So do I shut off the TM when I shut of TC.

I ask that because TC is off at the drag strip.
But if TM still is there it can be damn bad if it shuts off some injectors when I use Nitrous?!?!?!?

Didn´t have a problem, yet, but I get a 422 now and would like to know what´s up with that.

My value is set at 1000 and have not seen an issue with traction controle

I havent deleted Torque management and my car gets completely sideways on redline shifts(power shifts) does this mean its not coming on with TCS turned off for me?
