Another Satisfied EFILive customer here. I too was leaning towards HPT but I could never get a hold of them to ask questions and always heard horror stories of people waiting months for thier software/Hardware. Two things that made my descision for EFI was the fact that I could download a demo and play around with it, and they answered my questions very promptly.. Also I had my software 5 days from the time I placed my order.

I also want to say thanks to Greenlight Motorsports who I bought my commercial upgrade from. Chad got me my upgrade very quickly, and even helped me out with a base tune for my new motor..

Will there be any extra hardware required to utilize all of .12's features.

No new hardware required, this new innovation will work on all of our existing and current units.

2.1.12 is scheduled for release this month!!!

This feature has also been in use for serveral months, by certain members of this forum.

I can't say anything good or bad about HPT since I've never even seen their stuff let alone tuned a car with it. But, I can praise EFILive. I went from knowing jack about the PCM's and thinking Hypertechs/Predators were the $h!t to being able to get my car into mid-12's the right way with just a few bolt-ons. I'm currently working on my friend's Torquer v.2 cam'd car and have another friend in line who wants me to tune his. The truth is, I couldn't have come this far this fast without the help of everyone here and over at the EFILive forums. Who has more of what is hard for me to say. But, they both have the important tables that I needed even though they may have a different name (ie Open Loop Fuel Air vs Commanded Fuel in Open Loop). My Flashschan hookup is awesome and getting the LC1 hooked up was fairly easy (still working on getting the NB sim to work though). On top of that, the customizeable scanner (dashboard, maps, filters, etc.) makes it beyond easy. Just ask an EFI user about making maps by copying/pasting with labels.

In the end, I might still have a lump in my throat with having to spend so much on a little software/hardware. But, that lump would be there no matter what package I went with. I'm just glad I had the support of those who were willing to answer the noobie questions and pass the knowledge along. Now, I answer the noobie questions, help tune my friends' cars and most of all enjoy my -2 to -3 LTFT's & 12.8 WOT AFR tune.

While it does hurt the pocket book a little, the knowledge you gain about how your car works and how to tune it to its maximum potential is priceless. By far, this is the best mod I've done.

Divide $ spent on tuning software by time spent with tuning software, and you'll see it comes out very cheap.

And, as said by Steve, the knowledge gained is priceless, as is the ability to alter the tune anytime at will.
