P0101? What do I do? ***UPDATE : PROBLEM SOLVED***

Started throwing this code about a week ago. The car is stumbling in the midrange, but runs good at WOT. All I can find out about this code is MAF performance. It's a home ported job, but has been working great up until lately. Installed a new cam about 2 weeks ago, and that is when the probs started. Ran fine for months before. Are the sensor wires fouled in any way? Need some help from the PCM gurus. Thanks in advance. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Ryan, I think the problem is that your car expects to run 11s, but since you can't quite get there it has decided to be bitchy <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Just throw a stock maf in there and see what happens. If you need to borrow mine for the weekend you are welcome to it.

I've gotten this code twice in the past week. The car barely idles and can hardly start if it's been running. I've got a stock, unported, descreened MAF. Also heads & a T1 cam. The car ran fine up until the Sunday before last. I've got a friend that has stock MAF laying around so I'll try that, swap the plugs and see what happens. Anyone know if the P0101 code is a sign of the MAF going bad or can it be a symptom of other issues like a vacuum leak?

The problem is that your MAF readings are different from the PCMs caclulated readings due to the porting. Freind of mine has the same problem. You should stick a stock one back on or try to calibrate your ported one with LS1 edit.

OK, problem solved. There must have been some kind of residue on the sensor wires. Used a little rubbing alcohol and a Qtip, and guess what. NO MORE CODE!!!!!!! Damn car runs better than ever! No more surging on hot starts, and runs smooth as glass. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

I have a little over 15K on my SS now so I think it might be time to clean. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
