The good thing I see is you can make stupid small little changes to tables that maybe you've never messed with before to see if they help which could prove very valuable in idle tuning I would think as well as steady state dyno tuning.

Really this is more geared towards the dyno tuner (even better with a load dyno) where the car will be stationary and you wont need a buddy. A few die hard tuners like Jesse and myself will drag our GF/wives along with us and show them how to work the software because its that easy to use.

Even if you did stop along the road the software updates the emulator fast enough that

1. you wont be onthe side of the road for that long
2. you never have to shut the car off
3. it wont take 30 seconds and a recycle of the key

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I'm just waiting on software licensing.

I've been doing real time tuning on the OBD1's since the week tunercat RT came out and real time tuning on the EEC4 and 5 fords for a couple years now. I can tell you that it totally revolutionizes how you do your tunes and what you come out with.

So the tuner removes the customer's PCM and swaps in the emulator, drives on the dyno and nails the tune. Then removes the emulator and puts the customer's PCM back in and loads the program from EFI live into the customer's PCM. Probably makes senses for big cams and FI, maybe not for smaller cams or frequent combos with a good baseline that the tuner can preload.

I was thinking this was for guys like Patrick G who change their combo about 10 times a year!

Just got my software going.. Boy is this thing slick. Changes and uploads are very fast. This will really streamline part throttle tuning and wide open tuning.

Best of all. INSTANT feedback.

EFILive has some very nice software also..

There is another similar item in Australia sold by Dicks Electronics called RTLS1 Real Time LS1 - it also logs at a much higher frame rate - has the ability to make many adjustments instantly without even the slighest hint of engine stutter. It however is aimed at professional tuners.

What exactly does real time live tuning do?
a lil off topic but, the plymouth road runner is a licensed piece of warner brothers merchandise. in other words its WB swag. the car has a trademark symbol and everything for it. and its meep meep not beep beep

Maybe I should have called it the StreetSweeper? Don't know what to say, I'm into flightless birds. Although the Roadrunner can fly, it spends the majority of its time on the ground.

He's right, the Roadrunner character is copyrighted by Warner Bros. Inc. and the Roadrunner name is a trademark of Warner Bros. Inc., as I previously had partially stated.
You may want to at least check with a lawyer to see if it will be a hindrance to your great product. My previous post was only made to help and it was taken way off track by those whom are less informed.

Very impressive, very 'mind blowing' cool.

Hardware plus Software license brings you to $1100, not $2000 as previously mentioned;
Very good price, considering what it is and what you can do;

You can tune while you wait for the traffic light to turn green....

As a DIY I think it's worth saving up and budgeting for.

And when they come out with bluetooth...

:two thumbs up:

Just a quick note, the BlueTooth is already available as an option. Works pretty nicely!

Yes very cool foff added the cost of the cable which is kinda moot since you would hve to buy SOMETHING to be able to tune anything. So yess 1100 is a pretty decent price

Craig

Do the units come with bot USB and Bluetooth or is it one or the other?

They all come with USB, and the BlueTooth is an add-on. You can't hook up both at the same time (yet!).

If you get your existing set up on Ebay now, you might still be able to get something for it.

no matter how you add it up guys for someone just starting to tune & wanting this setup will want:
efilive at either $699 or $849
Moates system at ~$1100
LC1 wideband $200

im no math major but that sure seems like it might just add up to over $2000 not including the need for a laptop :shrug:
