Where's the 2 Bar SD OS for the 98 PCM?
About a month or so ago, I emailed HP Tuners when the 2 bar SD would come out for the 98 PCMs and was told basically it wasn't anytime soon.
Is there a certain reason why? Is it because it can't be done or not worth the time to rewrite the code.
I have a buddy that has a 98 Formula running 10-12lbs boost and I'd like to run him in 2 bar sd mode.
What options do I have for him, wait, switch to 99+ PCM or wing it with the MAF on?

do a search on the subject. there have been many threads on it. also call rick @ synergy moto. he has done them. you just put in a 2 bar map and adjust tables to correlate. my advice would be to call rick
as for hptuners and efilive i think there are not enough interests for them also i think it is very hard. the 98 pcm isnt giving much to work with.

I'm who Bill is talking about, and now I'm at 14psi.
I've been in email conversations with Rick @ Synergy, and this man knows his ****. I"lll be picking up a 2 bar MAP from Summit Racing and sending him my HPT file.
Too bad he's in Cali, but this is something I've hoping for since maxing my MAF

I wish I was closer to him and his load dynos so I could really dial in the car

From what I understand, this 2 bar MAP sensor essentially "splits" the numerical values on the 1998 VE tables, allowing them work double.
I/E: You have a table that normally shows a value of "200", that value is now "100", which allows a bigger increase in tuning capabilities.
One of the other guys can make more sensor of it, but there's a start.

DarkFormula has given a good explanation, other than splitting the values in half its just tuning like usual, but a WBO2 is mandatory if you don't already have one.
The man to contact on the in's and out's of this is Rick@synergymotorsports.
Until Harlan works out the ins and outs of the MAFT pro 2-3bar SD set up for 98+ LS1's this is a great alternative. Harlan is currently working on this set up on NA$TY-TA's turbocharged T/A...he's going to push that thing to 3 bar

Seriously, I'll be using Bill's WBO2 with a bung I'll have welded into my new exhaust being built. 4" Y-pipe (my duals on a lowered car catch EVERYTHING, including manhole covers)

I need to order a wide band soon. I have been holding out for the MAFT, but i am gonna have to do something to get the car running in the mean time. How much is the stock MAF good to boost wise? I will only be running 6 to 8lbs for a while.
