ESR, Please send our sales address an e-mail early next week for the software upgrade. If you already have the full tuning suite (which would include unlimited 2bar for gen3 vehicles), you will receive the 98 2bar at no additional cost.
Family sedan, please e-mail us at sales as well. I have all the information you need.
It doesn't matter how many licenses you have on your serial interface, the upgrade cost is a straight $149 or $199 depending on what interface you go with. We can also combine your interfaces onto one MPVI at the time of upgrade if you are interested as well. Once you have the MPVI interface, the cost to add the 2bar 98 license will be $99 (2 credits).

Holy She-it! Thought there was something different about today...looks like this is it. HPT finally went through the trouble to keep us 98 guys happy....just when MAFT pro 2-3 bar SD was being finalized and a few of us 98 guys were trudging away on our own doing a 98 custom jobby/hack. I wouldn't call it innovation, I'd call it a nice step to keeping market share.
THIS WAS THE REASON I WENT AND BOUGHT HPT IN THE FIRST PLACE That you guys were going to support 98s and 2bar SD..but then decided against it much to my dismay....but then...BAM here it is.
So, I can send in my EIO Serial cable, along with $149+99 for the 2 bar and it'll come all packaged up in the MPVI unit??
Great time to do this since the car is down waiting on parts.
Thanks HPT,
Customer happy

i just wanted to use primary ve so i dont have 10 kpa increments in SD and use high octane spark. I know what one bar is 100kpa and 14.7 psi i did go to school and they did cover that. Also 14.7 psi is 0 psig.

Sounds Great...
Mecham.. This would be great for you.. Gets you that much closer..
You and I being up here in Denver, our 1bar MAP sensors can pretty much read only 2psi of boost as the DA pressue up here is abour 12psi VS 14.7psi Sealevel. With a 2 Bar we can read about 17psi of boost up here..
This shall be fun!!

Too late. I took the dive and went all out for the BS3. 15lbs of boost won't be enough to keep me satisfied very long. I will live with under 15lbs with the T70, But when the 82mm goes on I will see alot more than 20lbs. Oh well.

The whole 2bar is not enough argument is only valid from a fueling point if you will ever see boost between your maximum and 15 psi. Even then if you can live with it being slightly rich there is no issue. And even then, there is no reason you can't have a few different max boost tunes ready to flash in if you decide to get happy with the boost controller. It only takes 30secs.
eg. your car makes 18psi but your car never see's anything between 15 and 18 psi anyway. Just tune the 15psi (210kpa) line in the VE table for 18psi.

Apples to oranges though, BS3 has a 2 step, WOT wideband correction, staged injectors/fuel pumps, internal logger, on the fly tuning etc. Its a race setup and thats its primary purpose. Just not a fair comparison to put the that and a custom stock PCM even in the same sentence IMO.
It would be more fair to comapare it to other stock PCM tuning solutions since none have 2bar 98 support..

I a going to use the BS3 alone. No factory PCM or engine harness. Like KP said the BS3 will inteface with all (or most) of the factory gauges. I plan to add an aftermarket Tach anyway so that aspect should be easy. All in all mine will be a street car too. Its gonna have OD and Dot tires. Its just gonna have a turbo under the hood to make things interesting.
