HP Tuners: 98 2bar!!
We have just completed testing of our soon to be released 98 2bar OS enhancement. That's right 2bar is coming to the 98's!!
Features:
- 5 kpa resolution VE table (15-210 kpa)
- boost enrichment table and thresholds
- delete secondary VE
- re-enable dual spark table knock learn (high and low octane)
- disable trans full line pressure for SD
- disable P1514
- Speed Density (SD) ONLY!!
We expect to annouce an open beta (v2.1.9) next Monday for those that want to get in before the official release in v2.1.10 (2-3 weeks).
Pricing will be as per existing LS1 2bar prices.
The test car was a twin turbo vette that hit 15psi at just under 5000 rpm , so we don't foresee any issues on lower boost combo's.
Any further details will be provided in the release announcement.

Chris,
Can I get in on this beta testing? I am helping a friend with a C5 and a nasty cam. If you guys never release a 1bar SD for 98s this will be as close as he ever gets... He has his own license of HPTuner...

Can we get this over at Conley's? We have a full tuner suite and have a 98 car sitting there with an STS kit waiting for something just like this.

Now I have a few questions on pricing. I have 2 cables, 1 for 1998 (serial cable, marked v1.0), and another for 99-02.
I wish to upgrade my cable to the MPVI Pro. According to your website that is $199, and in order for me to tune MY car (and mine only) in 2 Bar SD, I need to purchase two credits for $49.99 each.
The total alone for my 98 will be $298.98, correct?
How do I go about getting my interface upgraded, do I make a purchase on your website then send it to Casper's or something?
I won't even get into the cost of upgrading my 99-02 cable yet, that looks like it is going to run $1200 to do EIO and 2-3 bar speed density tunes?
I will be spending a lot of money with you guys again so I look forward to your prompt response.
