Here is some background on what the car is doing:
The tach stopped working and the SES light came on. Scanned the code and it came up as P0336 CPK Sensor Circuit Performance. The car still runs but only on a few cylinders. It will eventually foul the plugs and not run at all. I checked all the wiring and connections to the CPK sensor and computer. I took it to the shop this morning to have the Crank Relearn done. The shop call and said it cannot be done because the car will not stay running long enough.
Has anyone ever run into this problem? How can I get the sensor close enough to at least keep the car running. It seems to want to lock the motor up. Fuel is getting into the oil. I don't have alot of shops over here to take it to. Thanks for any help.

I did all of that. The wires are fine. I checked resistance in the wires all the way to the computer and came up with 0. I also changed the sensor. The shop is tell me they cannot do a crank relearn because the car will not idle.

Yes, I put a fresh set of plugs in it before it went to the shop. It only takes about 1 minute before it fouls them again. I have it at a better shop now and they are telling me it is not the sensor or relearn. Maybe it is the computer. I should know by next week. Thanks for the input.

Its an LS1 so no optispark. It ended up being the reluctor wheel on the crank was slightly bent. I straightened it out and it worked fine. I didn't even have to do the case relearn.
