Default using hp tuner to switch vin/transmission

I have a 98 automatic that Im going to be switching to a 6 spd, I also have hptuners for the car, what do I need to do to flash the computer to work with a 6 spd? Thanks

All you really need to do is flash a 98 M6 Calibration into the pcm and you should be good to go.

Specifically how do I do that? I seen where could change vins, but nothing else. Thanks

I thought it was a must that you HAD to throw in the OS & such that came out of your computer with the 98's...could be wrong since I havent had to do an OS changes as of yet.

You will need to find a M6 98 file and flash it.

I'm not sure if you can do that with the new MPVI interface, I know you can't edit and save files from another VIN.

You'll want to do a complete rewrite with the M6 bin, and there's no problems with 98's. I did this a while back (pre-MPVI).

black98, what version of the cable do you have? Does it have a USB end, or serial?

It is usb and the newest version I believe I just got it like 2 weeks ago.
