IAT gives temp and MAP gives baro. Why would either be an issue?

When Im in SD I have to adjust the Ve table for different seasons it throws trims off. I was wondering what GM's solution was for this, like a ve adder table.

Gm uses a complex model for intake air temps based on the reading from the IAT and coolant temp sensors, among other things. HPtuners allows you to switch to a simple IAT sensor only model, or change the complex model correction factors. Even something as simple as a thermostat change or cold air intake box could potentially render the original gm calculations wrong, so you may have to tweak those settings.

I just started messing with that within the last month and reading about it I currently have it set to 1 to take into account both ect and iat evenly it has made a big difference controling trims with under hood temps getting as high as 130 from the summer and traffic.

So the Holden vehicles that come from GM in speed density have little to no changes vs the ones here in the states, just a maf fail of 0?

There is nothing particularly special about the Holden/HSV GTS tune as far as the Operating System etc is concerned. The MAF fail settings are left stock even, in the absence of a MAF signal it will fail itself soon enough anyway

As for changes in seasons the system is running in Closed Loop remember and the O2's will take care of keeping the mixture on or around the commanded 14.63:1 AFR.

It would be interesting to go through some of
those Holden tunes on the repository and look
at how they have the temperature model data
set up.

I thought those vehicles ran alot leaner around 16:1 in closed loop because you guys dont have all the EPA bullshit we have?

Some state in Australia have emissions requirements. Also Lean Cruise is disabled in all late model Holden tunes also. Basically the speed enablers are set to over 300kmh
