Default Problem Resetting PCM

Alright well my SES light is on and I think I have the problem solved so I attempted to reset my PCM. I turned the ignition to ON, removed PCM ign and PCM bat fuses, let the car sit for ten minutes, turned the ignition to OFF and removed the keys, put the two fuses back into the fuse box, waited five minutes and then started my car. When I started my car the SES light was still on immediately after starting. It didn't come on after it started, it was still on just as before. Can anyone help me with what I need to do to reset my PCM?

PCM Reset

Turn car on, don't start car
Pull PCM BAT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
Wait 5-10 min
Turn ignition off
Replace fuses

Sounds like you did it correctly. What was the problem you corrected? Some codes set the MIL immediately on the first ignition cycle as soon as it sees a problem. Know what code it was throwing?

Code was PO 0410 dealing witht he AIR injection system. If it's correct will the PCM recognize immediately? Could it possibly take 3 cycles of it being correct to turn the engine light off? Thanks for the help

P0410 sets on the second consecutive failure, and goes off by itself after three consecutive cycles without a failure. So should've gone off after reset. More info at www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic9013.php

Alright well the PCM is reset, thanks guys, I guess I just needed to leave the fuses out longer than I had. Just wondering what the definition of a cycle is. I'm presuming its starting the engine and turning it off, correct me if i'm wrong. So in 2 cycles I will find out if the problem has been solved or not with whether or not the SES light comes back on? Thanks again guys

Yes, a cycle is generally a start. Since your code was for secondary air the code may not return until after a couple "cold" starts when the air pump cycles.

Thank you for your help with this entire thing. I can't imagine trying to figure it out on my own. I really appreciate it and I will keep you updated on whether or not i've fixed the problem.

Just a suggestion... Check your air pump fuse. Mine was blown (SES) and I didn't think to check it until I just happened to pull the fuse for a reason I can't remember.

I recently had my manifold off. I checked over everything and found that where the AIR pump has a little line to a spot on the fuel rail wasn't connecting. I'm almost positive that was the issue. If reconnecting that didn't solve my problem i'm gonna dig deeper.
