I have two LT1 equipped Z28's and I'd definitely buy it. I know a lot of guys that have LT1's and they would probably buy it if I bought one and told them about how good it was(is)...

Tunercat started pcm tuning for the common joe and was not made to be a money maker marketed product like all the copy cats today. Nothing can change history. I would never buy anything else because it would be $400+ dollars. People need to make their Hummer payments ya know.

I suppose I agree. I still actively use TunerCat on both my 93s and find it an excellent product that is still viable. Between that and TTS Datamaster, I am not certain that I would buy a new product.

However if it was built well and the logging and the tuning were combined I certainly would consider it.

BTW, if anyone needs a eprom burner please let me know by pm. I have upgraded to a USB system and have my old PB10 card based system available for someone that needs it.

I use '96 Z28 OS into my 96 9c1 and use HPT as the scanner (more PIDs than the Impala SS OS). I use Tunercat OBD2 to edit the files. HPT in one suite would be nicer.
Build it and we'll buy it.

I got sick of waiting and finally bought tunercat/now jet full sprectrum tuner that can do lt1 but not overly happy. No instructions at all came with it in regards to actual tuning. Next to nothing on the jet site. Forum support seems very weak with almost no one answering any questions. I will figure things out but really not impressed and don't think want to use it for my 99 trans am twin turbo project. It has really no nitrous goodies,no bar tuning or speed density I don't think and no stutterbox or antilag or anything great for turbo guys.
Hp tuners has the 3 bar tuning not sure about nitrous stuff or stutterbox or antilag or no lift to shift.
My dsm tuning package has all of this stuff .
Will do some more reasearch before pick my ls1 tuning package. I could at least do some hack tuning with the tunercat /jet on my ls1. At least get it to turn I suppose with big injectors and the turbos.

I voted YES do it but it really doesnt matter. this is the email I got from them

"At the moment, we have no plans for OBD1 coverage.

Thank you,

Jay Payson
HP Tuners"

Tunercat is all we have. our options are to just convert our OBD2 setups to OBD1 and run datamaster and cats. so sad

I think doing at least 96-97 would be very helpful for LT1 guys. OBD1 have tunercat + datamaster which while still not as refined as the integrated LS1 HP Tuners software, is still more than adequate and can be had for a very reasonable price. The options for obd2 LT1s are much less. Really the only viable setup for them is lt1edit + autotap enhanced which is a very expensive $$$ proposition.

I bet if you added obdII trucks to the poll, the results would increase a lot. I have yet to find anything to really tune 96-98 gmc's and silverados. All I can find is obdI and genIII for trucks.

There have been over 150 votes thus far showing intrest in HPTuners offering LT1 tuning capability. Any new updates HP? I've got a few LT1 cars that I've been putting off that I will be tuning in the near future. I really don't want to go out and buy another software package for LT1s. I've been very happy with HPTuners!

It's not like it's the easiest thing to just throw together great software. Even if they did decide to do it, it would take a while to produce a quality product.

They wont ever do it, there focus is on newer engine managment systems. I cant really blame them. they are trying to make money and 150 ppl aight ****. even a couple hundred isnt enoguh to justify spending hundreds of hours developing software for obsolete engine management systems. with the rate manufacturers are pumping out new and improved engine manaagement systems they are going to bust there *** just to keep up with the new stuff let alone deal with a few hundred ppl using old equipment.

True although this post has stayed active for quite a while and generated a bunch of interest from our LT1 enthusiasts, this post has largely gone ignored by HPT with little direct response posted by HPT over the months.

TC, LT1edit and Jet or custom solutions like BS3, FAST etc....are your alternatives.

HPTuners has released Vortec support for 1998-2000 trucks. They are listening to this post and the consumers, to say they are not is being ignorant.

Well stated. Its hard enough to try and keep up with current and future technology. I dont see them concentrating on a decade old platform, that already has tuning solutions.

Ive had a few requests in OZ to tune the LT1s back to 93. They seem most popular with SBC buffs and dragsters/hot-rods. These guys will pay anything to get their cars running right. Prolly why most go carby as EFI tuning is very limited.

I voted 94-97 OBD1..Id buy it, since HPT is more user friendly than TC..Then, I wouldn't mind to do my own tuning..

C' mon, do it! Do it!
