Got a Hypertech 160 Thermostat... what temp do you guys tune your fans for?
I'm moving to Phoenix, AZ in a couple weeks where it gets HOTTTTTTT!!!!!
I installed a Hypertech 160 Thermostat along with fresh coolant, and water wetter. I know you guys change the tune for the fans when you put the lower degree thermostat in there, but what temp do you usually tune it to?
Oh, and here's my new "BE COOL" radiator i just installed

better to go for a drive, and see what your temps look like while cruising, and then what they look like at a stop. I usually set the first fan to come on around 10-15 degrees above cruise, 2nd fan 15-18 above cruise. You don't want your fans to be clicking on and off all the time. You only want them on during a prolonged stop when the car is prone overheating.
IE: Cruising temp = 175 (40+ mph driving)
Fan 1 On = 189
Fan 1 Off = 181
Fan 2 On = 193
Fan 2 Off = 181
Adjust a smidge higher for summer temps.

160 Degree Thermostat
________ON______OFF
F1______184F____175F
F2______194F____185F
well this is what I went with today... I also changed the fan turn on after the engine is turned off to 200 instead of the stock 235
she's keeping a steady 178-180 degrees when sitting still right now

question about fan settings
sorry to bring this "back from the dead", but i have a question that fits into this pretty well. I just got a tune and the tuner set the fans: Stage1: on@180*, off@ 170* Stage2: on@190*, off@ 180*
I'm going to get a 160* Tstat so my fan wont run all the time anymore. my question is are these fan settings too low?
Thanks

cause everything i have learned says 200= great for engine. then you dont lose so much thermal heat from the cylinders.
and as could as you can for the intake.
so where is it the over 170=bad?
