Car misses under acceleration
Problem is when the motor goes into load in 3rd gear and up it seems to miss and pops can be heard from the exhaust. Its a 2001 ls1 with new ngk plugs gapped at .055. Wires are a set of crane fire wires. Only mods to the engine are intake and long tube headers with dual 3 inch exhaust. Motor is swapped in a 93 rx-7. I'm thinking its a ground issue but i'm open to opinions and other things to check.

Check 02 sensor wires-seen long tubes touch/melt wires & throw no codes
but cause vehicle to run rich under acceleration, causing popping
You can also pull the plugs from 1 side to see if they are black,if so
the 02 connection could be the problem on that bank-also check the
02 sensor to see if they are black-if so they are bad-they should be brown/
rusty color-same with plugs-I run NGK TR55 @ .043
That has worked for me.

I figured mine out, car threw a p00336 code and turned out to be a bad crank sensor.
I regapped old plugs to .40(ngk) and added some nos booster to the 93 octane. Took it for a run and still got a ping. Redouced timing in that area and its all gone for now.
