14.5:1 for 5 minuites then 12.0:1 tired of ls1 com
car will go perfect a/f from cold start for about 5-10 minuites of driving. The out of no where the a/f will go pig rich for no reason and stay that way for the rest of my drive to work, another 10 mins. or so.
Anybody on this board know waht the hell is going on????
Thanks

It sounds like COT (catalytic overtemp protection). You can disable COT using LS1 Edit, but it's not recommended if you still have cats (although I've disabled it on my car running cats); if my cats burn up I'll just gut 'em. I can't really think of anything else that would make you go so rich after a period of driving. Anyone else?

Its not Cat Over Temp, not at part throttle.
Is your car going into closed loop after 5 minutes, are you reading the AF with a wideband, or narrow band, or the scan tools reading of desired AF?
What CELL's are you in when its this rich and what LTFT's are you running in these cell's?

Car has no cats.
Everythign pertaining to emissions have been removed/deleted with ls1 edit.
I am readiing the a/f with a fjo in car wideband.
Seems to go into "closed loop" before I leave the driveway. Perfect a/f 14.x:1
Car runs in the -7 to -14 % ltft range at pt and idle.
I drive about 5 minuites and the a/f goes to mid 12's. Part throttle, idle, and WOT. Wide open ok since i have tuned it to mid 12's at WOT. Just the idle and cruise/part throttle a/f Is what I dont understand. Perfect some times, others its 12, or even high 11:1 a/f.
AEM EMS, Hondata, Haltec, other systems i have tuned on differnent cars. I HATE the ls1 computer. If AEM comes out with a plug and play for this car, I will be the beta tester!!!!!!!!
If the car will do what i want it to do in open loop, I will just run it in open loop all the time.
Unless there is a big downside to this??
Thanks for the help guys.
Keep it comming

I have similar problems with ls1 edit. Oh well it will get better they find new tables all the time. They just released one for another idle table. I have the FJO unit as well. I have been trying to tune for the 50 lb injectors. I crunch the numbers for the injector flow rate and pretty much have to ignore them to get it to run. I changed the offset table to match the slow opening time. I am using 7.04 in the table which gives me about -10 on the fuel trims, but to get the WOT right I have I have to put in 1.4 in PE table to get 12.3 AFR. If I change the flowrate table to say 7.4 I still get -10 fuel trims, but when I hit the throttle it will stay at 14.7.
Also lbz34 thats kinda optimistic claiming that you have fatest ls1 in New Mexico. You probably do since most poeple in southern New Mexico, go to El Paso to race.
Gary
Incon Twin Turbo (at 5 lb and still tuning)

Actually I don't do any of the website stuff. Brian does. I have told him to calm it down a bit but he doesn't listen. LOL
I am sure if I took the trip from 5600 ft. down to El Paso Car would be considerably faster. A realistic estimate would be .7-.9/+3-+7 mph on motor pretty easily, but alas I dyno and race up here.
BTW-we also do not go by corrected dyno #'s-ie SAE. Funny how most of the residents here have a completely different mindset than the rest of the world.
Must be the altitude.

I dont think 1400 ft lower is going to get your that much mph and et plus the fack that there is no track prep at El paso or arroyo secco (deming). You might see some good numbers at Roswell (3600 ft and lots of track prep).
My car will probably never see a dyno, you can get a real good idea of power from the maf sensor and track times. So far at 5 lb of boost and the stock injectors/timing I did a miserable 13.5 at 108 mph on a 2.3 60 ft (only nocked .5 seconds of stock and gained 10 mph. Now that I have the 50 lb injectors, I will start tuning for timing and crank the boost up some.
