Default LS1Edit? Is it unlockable, if I locked it?

OK guys-

Several years ago I had LS1Edit, as I was getting ready to do a head/cam swap and thought I'd be able to handle it all on my own..

Well, I wound up selling all the head/cam swap items and I actually LOST my LS1Edit dongle.. No telling where it is.. I've been trying to find it for several years now, with no luck..

Anyway, I messed with the car a little bit just trying out LS1Edit.. Set the speed limit to like 255mph, stupid stuff like that..

Well, I seem to remember there being an option to lock the pcm.. Not 100% on this but something seems familiar about that..

Anyway, I am in the middle of a head/cam swap and am going to have a local guy tune it..

If I locked it and do not remember the password, am I hosed?

If I am hosed, what can I do become unhosed?

Thanks guys

Jeff

The guaranteed option is to have the PCM bench flashed completely and start all over again.

There is no password. What software are you using now?

Theres no password or any locking the Tune with the normal LS1edit. The only thing that can be locked is a VIN lock to lock that cable to your car so it can't be used on another car to tune. Get a new software package and start tuning away.

Efilive allows you to input a Key manually for any controller to unlock it if you know the key. But in the case of ls1edit locking of the pcms, They did not change the seed/key of the pcm so for any other tuning software it should read out just fine.

It would be locked to his software package if he locked it. It gives him the option to lock or unlock it when saving the file. Just click on "file", then "properties", then click under "Tuner Options" click on "Lock On File Save". Also there is no "dongle", only his cable. Sounds like maybe he didn't lock it himself. It's also not locked as far as other software packages are concerned. HPTuners (and I'm assuming EFIlive) software won't know the difference. It's just a flag LS1Edit looks for toward the end of the engine cal.
