Default Need tune to drive after cam swap?

Once the motor goes in with headers/dual exhaust and a TR230/224 cam and stock heads, how safe is it to drive to get tuned?

Can a mail order tune take care of something so mild?

I'm new to the world of fuel injection obviously and these may be really stupid questions.

i drove on my cam for 2 weeks untuned and didnt have any issues. Try to make sure you aren't running real lean if you can, and definitely don't go romping on it

You will probally be rich; so you should be OK for a short period. Do not wait too long.

it will be a matter of driving from the shop where the install will happen to the dyno, several hours away morethan anything if all goes well

how close can a mail order tune that uses the cam specs, ect get in case my budget would not allow for a dyno tune for a couple weeks? this might be a bad idea?

You'll be ok to drive it to the shop but don't go WOT or drive it for too long as you may kill you cats and O2's being too rich.

it may be slam miserable trying to drive it like that (that far) with that cam. Talk to whomever is doing your tune. They should be able to load up your PCM with something that will help you get the car to them to do the actual tuning.

When I had my motor built and all the mods slapped on there, I knew it would be awhile before I could get it dyno tuned(closes dyno tuner 200 mi,) so I ripped out my PCM and sent it to PCMFORLESS. Seemed to go a pretty decent job for wingin' it based on my specs, the afr was pretty close when I finally got it on the rollers.
