Default What needs to be changed for A4 to M6 swap?

I'm finishing up swapping in the T56 on my 98 Formula and am trying to get the tune ready.

I disabled all DTCs relating to the auto.

Zero'd out the Idle Airflow P/N entries

Zero'd out pretty much all the trans diagnostic entries.

I also changed the spark advance for in park to match in drive.

This is what I found so far from doing a little searching. Am I missing anything else? I really would prefer to flash my own tune modified to work rather than flash someone else's tune.

Get a stock '98 M6 file and copy all your changes from the current A4 tune over to the stock M6 tune and perform a "write entire". That's what I did, worked great.

I'd like to avoid flashing a tune from a different car if possible.

There may be some follower/cracker differences too. Driveability stuff so it doesn't die when you push in the clutch or keep pulling on you when you still have the clutch engaged.

Get a copy of a stock m6 tune, and do a compare.
(hptuners has the compare feature, probably the others too)

See what pops up different, and decide what to bring over into your tune from there.

I think things like P/N airflow are still used even for a manual transmission, when it's in neutral or the clutch is disengaged.

I did a re write on my car when I swapped.
If you have HPTuners and compare just a stock A4 and stock M6 you'll see more differences than you think.
Some don't even show up. My cruise control worked fine with an A4 bin and the M6 trans but after tuning for the M6 it stopped working and I had to add a pin and wire to the VCM.
The timing tables are different, and I'd bet if your A4 tune had timing advanced here and there it wouldn't work right to add that much to the M6 tune.
Basically you need to get an M6 tune in there and start over.

It's not like you are flashing in someone else's file...

Get an OEM M6 file. Move your relevant fuel, spark, DTCs, etc over to it and do a write entire.
