Default Hypertech Power Programmer ? Any good?

Local guy selling this thing, does it actually work at all? Just a waste of money? Let me know.

I just sold my C5 Corvette and would like to sell my Hypertech Power Programmer III. It really did help the power in the car especially in the upper rev ranges.

The programmer is like new in the original box with the cable and instruction manual. The VIN is not locked so it can be used on any 1997-2004 C5 Corvette or 1999-2002 Camaro/Firebird

Additional info....Hypertech Part # 30025, LS1 Motor

Hypertech site link:

Here are the performance gains....http://209.12.144.2/media/dynocharts...68rbejtbhg.pdf

Or is this just a bunch of bull?

I had the HPP for my 94 Z28 and wouldn't buy it again
Now I have the Crane Power Tuner for the 02 Z. Much better unit with more features.

From Crane's website

It can deliver up to 30 extra rear wheel horsepower from a stock engine. And what sets Crane?s Power Tuner apart from other devices on the market is that it is capable of tuning both stock and modified engines ?including those that are supercharged! It?s even got programs to maximize the potential of many popular Crane camshafts for the LS1/LS6. It takes only minutes to re-program an engine, so you can set it up for maximum power or best fuel economy, depending on what kind of driving you?re doing. You can actually use it on another vehicle (original host vehicle must be returned to stock tune before transferring device). Some of the many features of Crane?s Power Tuner? include:

Thousands of hours of R&D time and scores of cam installations have been invested in creating the optimum degree of ?tuneability? for this easy-to-use, hand-held tuner
Use with OEM or Crane cams
Adjust fuel curves
Change computer rev limiter
Raise or eliminate speed limiter
Fine tune spark advance
Adjust for grade of fuel
Compensate for different tire size
Return to stock tune at any time
Performance settings can be indefinitely changed
Calibrated to your specific vehicle
Set optimum transmission shift points
Reads diagnostic codes and provides ?clear code? function Above all, Crane?s Power Tuner? is easy to use. It hooks up with a ?plug-n-go? convenience. There?s no laptop required. And a complete programming cycle takes only minutes.

It works for me...

Get a dynotune or a mail order tune from a well known tuner.

I have it on my 01' Z28 A4, it's OK. It came with the car. If I were to buy one I would get a DYNO tune from a good Performance shop.
