Default Getting a mail order tune. Tell me what you think.

I havent heard back from the local guy yet, and have heard some bad stuff about him, so im just going to order a mail order tune...Madtuner (Madz28) is who i have been looking into. If i tell them all my engine specs, will he know where to set my rev limiter and stuff, or do i need to tell him where to set it? Does anyone know any coupon codes? Or anyone know of a reputable place that is cheaper? Give me your input. I will get the full performance tune.

If this is for your 383 LS6, I wouldn't get just a mail order. You wont get the full potential, as a dyno-tune or a street tune would get you. And with a setup like that, I wouldn't get anything but a Dyno/Street tune. There are a handful of guys in the STL area that could tune that. And there is also a guy in Tulsa, OK if you dont mind a drive.

The reason i was going to get one is cause there is no dyno around here. There is one in neosho, about 30 miles away, but they only tune carbuerated engines....BUT i found a shop in springfeild that will tune a EFI engine on the dyno for 350 so thats whay i am making an appointment for tomoro

For a h/c motor a dyno tune is a must. With just bolt ons, you can get away with just a mo tune.
