I use EFILive and their scan tool is very nice and my favorite scan tool. Here is a shot of the Dashboard. What's nice is I can log additional PID's not displayed on the Dashboard under the Data Tab. A very nice feature for secondary PID's like Trans temp or whatever you want.

EFILive's dash's are fully customizable to look/behave any way you like. I've seen some really pimp dash displays on the EFILive forum

Depends on what you want to do and what kind of deal you can arrange with a reseller. Ball park, to get a dash on your instrument cluster LCD, you can figure around $400 for new gear.

BTW here's something I was able to whip up today. I'll be honest with you doing a good background pic is the most time consuming part & difficult part, actually setting up the gauges is pretty straightforward in both packages. If you have a background in graphic design & such doing something very good looking won't be difficult at all with either.
While gauges provide eye candy they have little real functionality when it comes to tuning or even scanning a vehicle for the most part. I haven't used the gauges while driving in several years & never had the need for them while tuning a vehicle.
