Why play the guessing game. If you want a half-*** tune, get Predator or Edit, throw some value changes in it and tell everyone you have computer tuning done. If you want it tuned, get some info to provide for feedback to the vendor and help him tune your car the right way! Auto-tap, EFILive, Ease, and or a wideband reading.

Good-luck.

you dont need more than the basic tune with just a lid and flowmaster. you only have to get that after a major mod like heads/cam. etc.

Kansas 99z28, your assuming his car is all healthy as far as tuning and performance. No need to flame, but why do something half-assed? If you can get the readings, sendd them in and have a custom tune done!

Besides the generic tune DOES NOT delete Torque Management, COT, and several other things some people want. So it serves the user best to get what they pay for. Just like you can gain with a stock car using LS1Edit, although not much, youcan with any tuning if done right.

It's an M6 w/ cats (no TM and still needs the COT)

When I put in the tune that came with the Predator my car started pinging, but it never hurts to try.

What are you doing to correct for the LS-6 MAF's
different calibration? I expect this may be the
root of your pinging w/ the more aggressive tune.

Jimmy, he had a problem with the generic tune, but has since received a few custom tunes, dialing in the cam and such. Drew still needs to get a WB reading to ensure proper AF ratio, but has logged some idle/cruise and WOT using the LS1M Palm Scanner (btw, nice little piece there).

I just saved to data from my car and e-mailed it to James.

He sent me back a new program fixed the pinging, deleted the TM and all the other stuff I didn't need.

Just installed the program, as expected, 3.8 kr @ 4300 rpm w / 910 on the O2's. Sent a e-mail to James.

What did you expect?

Atleast it's not like the HPP3 and your just stuck with that tune.

Also from reading other post M6 might have TM, if so deleting that will help also.

It takes time, believe me I know.

But, it beats buying a laptop, edit, and going in blind.

Just enter the stock program and set the fuel, timing back to 0.
