Default Lower Airbox Assistance Please

So for Christmas the wife got me a factory WS6 lower airbox (actual GM not an aftermarket knockoff) and a clear lid to return my 98 back to a factory style intake setup (had a crappy open element CAI when I bought the car) and I noticed an issue with the lower airbox. It seems there is a part missing from the lower airbox which the filter should sit on. There are also no metal clips to hold it shut. Guess when you order that part number you really do get it BARE. I was wondering if anyone knew part numbers for this inner "tray" and clips so I could get these installed while the car is down for the winter. Without this center tray, the air filter would just fall down into the lower airbox and not seal up. I hope someone knows what part I am talking about.

I'm not sure, but the insert and clips are likely common between ram air and regular lower air boxes.

Should be able to get them for cheap or free.

Correct. Post up a thread here. Should be able to get a complete non ws6 one with all the trays/clips for little to no money at all.

LS1 Camaro or Firebird airbox parts will work. 98-02 V6 Camaros & Firebirds will also have the same parts. Just check out the threads on cars that are being parted out, and/or post what you need in the Parts Wanted Forum.

Sorry for bumping an old post but this I have somewhat a related issue.

I got a lower WS6 airbox from GM Parts Direct, but since I had my factory airbox parts I didn't have any problems with a bare support since I could switch the parts over. What I did have a problem with was the air filter tray. It seems to be a few millimeters too narrow for the WS6 airbox even though it fits my stock airbox perfectly. I don't imagine the WS6 cars had their own filter tray did they? Anyone who bought a WS6 box to retrofit have a similar problem?

I guess I could take a picture tomorrow if needed.

Thanks.

I bought the same thing (NOS gm lower ws6 air box) and after it gets back from getting dipped I will be going thru this same deal....hoping my stock tray and clips will work too.

PS-The guy I got mine from still has a few left too, NOS but not cheap.

Weird, guess I have some sort of bad convergence of factory tolerances.

The damn thing hardly fits under my Firehawk hood with my FTP 85mm lid... perhaps I will just get rid of it.
