Went cruising around town. PerformaBuilt helped me figure out an issue with my lock out torque converter not staying engaged, "a loose positive battery terminal," Now my bird is flying high again!

Took El Pollo Fiero to buddys shop to swap work. I intended to only do the oil pan gasket and timing cover gasket/seals. Well, ended up replacing water pump as bearing seemed rather loose, replaced timing set as chain had too much slack, replacing crank position sensor connector as it was falling apart. Replacing the exhaust manifolds with shorty pace setters, had these on hand from a parts car. One of the previous owners had exhaust work, but they fucked up one of the flange/cat bolts, and it keeps blowing out gaskets.

So, since the headers have EGR piping blocked off, I am also removing EGR, Smog/AIR pump, EVAP, and whatever else I can get rid of. Then sending PCM off to get a Solomon tune.

Currently, car is waiting to have opti and water pump put back on, and headers hung. Gonna be a few days before I can get back to working on it, but right now am working on extra door panels and center console. Going to try painting them to see if I can make them look better or not.

Tried fixing the dr headlight with a new bulb for the LMC housing and found that new bulb still no worky and the high beam not working so time to look into wiring or finally use the plates and go with the hella projectors.

My belt kept coming of my belt tensioner so I replaced it with a Katech belt tensioner. Was easy and I like the looks of it.

Spent the afternoon changing the headlight actuator on the passenger side. I can't recall if I've changed it or not (don't think so, but I have owned the car 19 years, so I may have forgotten). Miserable fiddly job, quite a bit more time consuming compared to the driver side, which IIRC has more access room. Would it have killed GM to give just a little more room to work?! Anyway, finished it in the end, and no more horrible jackhammer noise.

Next job is replace a buzzing OEM speaker in the sail panel. And a new battery tray/overflow bottle is on order. Then paint correction.

Replaced the T-Top end cap seals from Hawks 3rd Gen, And replaced both hatch struts from Hawks 3rd Gen. If anyone is interested they also have hood and hatch struts with a Carbon Fiber look. I didn't get those, but the ones I got work great.

Longer studs in and spacers on. I could have gone out further, but it's an improvement.

New fuel filter and did plugs and wires for the first time. I was thinking it can't be as bad doing the plugs and wires as everyone says. I was wrong!!!! I think it was worse, especially #8.

Not really to my firebird, more for me when working on my firebird. Downloaded, combined and bookmarked an entire 2000 Firebird/Camaro factory service manual for quick reference when needed. No more random searches online when I need help figuring out an issue. Over 5K pages worth of knowledge.

Yep. It sucks. I cheated when I did mine. I did it while the engine was stripped of all its front accessories, intake manifold etc. The only thing in the bay was the complete engine itself and headers. I was actually able to stand in the bay because there was no radiator or anything installed at the time. In retrospect, I should have done it when the engine was out of the car.
