Yeah I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out. I have a lokar throttle cable and it frayed where it connects at the TB they fixed it to finish the tune but it's not in the bracket anymore cause there wasn't enough cable left.

Default Out with old and in. With the new upgrades

Recap past year new nittos replacing the Goodyear eagles, powdercoated the rims, upgraded to 150 amp alternator (installed myself lol), led all, and fog lights. Past October upgraded from bilstein and hotchkis springs to konis and stranos, love the stance and handling!. Added power steering cooler and replaced power steering rack.all new fluids etc. July 2021 replaced upgraded to stainless steel lines and drilled slotted power stop brake kit from stock brakes hawk pads and Baer rotors. Also swapped out old bushings for energy suspension polys. Love it. Also replaced headlight motors as they both died after 20 years lol.
Shout out to my buddy Patrick for helping me with the shocks springs and power steering rack, lucky guy lol! And to Ja at the garage for doing the brakes and bushing stuff.

Had a Paintless dent repair guy come and fix the drivers rear quarter of the Firehawk. Ever since I bought it 20+ years ago, there were a several small dents, probably made by careless parkers. I'd always just ignored/forgot about them, and would only notice them when I washed the car. Anyway, 30 mins later, all gone. He went in via the interior (removed the speaker in the B pillar to give him access to the back of the panel). Interesting process to watch, very skilled guy being doing it for a long time. Fender is as good (better actually, come to think of it) than new.

I had a bit of steering whee slop so I replaced the OEM drivers side steering column pin with the oversized pin from UE.
Easy job to do if anyone has the same issue, tilt the wheel all the way down, then remove the instrument cluster bezel (if you have fog lights there is a connection you can unclip).
Next you’ll want to remove the tilt lever (I suggest wrapping the handle with a cloth or shop towel and use vise grips as the lever is screwed in with factory locktite.
Once this is done, remove the small plastic cover that houses the back of the wiper stock/tilt lever.
Next you should be able to remove one last piece of plastic that covers the steering column pin. Screw a M4 bolt into the pin and remove with vise grips while rocking the wheel.
Use the M4 bolt screwed into the new oversized pin and while rocking the wheel, tap it in with a hammer (this took me a while to get it completely in place)
Reassemble everything (good opportunity to clean everything that you removed).
90% of my steering wheel slop is now gone and I’m quite happy with the results, from start to finish this job will take about an hour!

unbalanced engineering here’s a link to the part. Also if you check YouTube, anyone doing this repair they tear down the steering column starting at the airbag and working their way down, which is unnecessary work and requires a steering wheel puller. The method I listed above is fast and simple and anyone could do it (I’m not a mechanically inclined person so if I say it’s easy, ITS EASY!)

Finally getting things how I wanted years later........ All the pretty accessories are complete including some steel braided lines for the coolants system. Nothing fancy the radiator hoses are sleeves over or hose with finishers at each end, the vent line is a -6 hose with finishers at each end as well. Pump is a PRC high flow with the nice pulley, painted the whole thing black and replaced the press fit heater ports with NPT threaded AN adapters

All easy since I had the bumper off and I wasn't leaning over half the car. Finished hiding the core support grounds and the driver fender well ground, and installed a set of morrimoto knock offs as well. Got one last thing for my DRLs and the vents going on but should be putting the bumper back on this weekend and hopefully getting some road time.

Though the winter mod list has already started....... Big brakes, ABS delete and I'm gonna copy something another member did with the pockets between the inner fender and core support.

Default AC... finally

When I was putting on my new heads in 2011 in my 2002 Trans Am, I cracked one of my AC lines and everythingleaked out. I picked up a new line and replaced it at that time but have spent the last 10+ years without AC. Finally took it to a local shop and they did an evac, leak test, and refill and I have air conditioning about the time weather is getting cooler in Iowa. The car isn't my daily driver and it's usually out with the t-tops off even on the hottest days so may not use it a lot but glad it's working.

Default Prepped for PDR guy tomorrow…:

Last week I discovered a “door ding” on the drivers quarter. Haven’t owned the car 2-months now and already the kids have put a scratch and a dent on the car.
I know it may sound petty but I searched for over a year for a clean car and with only 17k miles on it and always garaged this one looked like a new car.
Anyway delved into it to see how the Tech could access inside the rear quarter and pulling the back seat, inner panel and rear speaker is pretty much the only way to get at it….
Ordered some Koni shocks and found a set of springs for the B4c police package I’m going to install with them. Also the UMI 3-point SBC showed up this week. Getting parts together for a Winter upgrade….

Took her out for a spin, I got more work to do. Engine was good! I think I need to bleed the power steering more, but may also need some driveability edits. Wheel doesn't want to turn freely, and sometimes trying to make sharp turn at low speed/from a stop she bogs down or chokes.

Ride height needs to come up a bit I think and the shocks need adjustment (that part I knew). Beyond that it was a smooth ride.
