My attempt at a Shaker (project still in progress)
Well, here is what I got accomplished this weekend. Still need to do some work on everything. My goals were to cut and mount this weekend.
Still need to clean up the edges. Eventually I want to make this functional. I really like the look of it, and I'm painting the scoop black. (flat black now)
Like/Dislike? Be honest please!

Outstanding. I like the height. It will provide enough clearance for me to upgrade from a Victor Jr 4BBL to a Super Victor 4BBL . The only difference with mine is it will need to go all the way to the rear of the hood since that is where the carb hat is.
I like it. Where did you get the pattern or how did you measure it??

I got a pattern from someone with an actual 70-76 hood scoop. I just marked the center, then slapped the poster board cut out down. I did have to freehand a bit on the front curve. I know we have a different physical curve on our hoods, but I thought that factor could be negated by height of the scoop on the front and back.

Raleigh T/A did it first. I got the idea to try it myself to. As far as I know, we are the only two who have done it. We are basing our ideas and goals off of the 2003 Heritage T/A.
I have been back/forth over it. Even though it's not finished, I sometimes look at it and say "This doesn't belong on a Formula..T/A maybe." I sprayed it flat black to see a contrast, and have now decided to eventually paint it Arctic white, the same color as the car. Of course when it shakes, I think it's really cool!
