Does the fuel pump even run? You shoul hear it running for a couple secs KOEO. If nothing, check the f.p. fuse. It's on the oass side inner fender. It's hanging on the fuse holder cap. Pull and check fuse. Next is f.p. relay, it's behind the brake booster. Will gave to check wire color, there are 3 relays there. Maf power, burnoff abd fuel pump.

Also, crawl under car and ckeck the conn on the rear firewall, just in front of the tank. Should have a label FUEL. The conn is held with a toothpick type pin and a normal weatherpack retainer clip. If no conn gauge will read beyond full

Sure, but what is the actual pressure? Someone mentioned carb cleaner, but you should use actual starting fluid to test for a fuel system issue.

I have exhausted all options and I am ready to have this car towed to a shop. As one last ditch effort, should I buy a computer from Ebay and give that a try? Its about $150. I have run out of ideas and have tried all of your suggestions.

I shot some quick start into the intake and it tried to run. I am going to put in a new knock sensor and see if that solves my problem.

I am sure learning alot about this car. Another suggestion that I had was to take a look at the main computer to see if it was fried or had any visible symtoms of being bad. Removed the computer and it looked fine. The next suggeston I will try will be the relays for the MAF, fuel pump etc.

I changed out my fuel pump again as suggested by friends and the results are still the same. I was told that maybe the problem is with the knock sensor. What do you think? I am waiting for my OBD1 cable to arrive so I can hook up my code scanner. Any thoughts until then? Thanks

Well Ive been told to change my spark plugs out?? I have ordered some e3 plugs and will do this next week. Do you have to jack up the car to change plugs on an 87 TA. There is no room to get access to the plugs from the top.

I tried to install a new fuel filter, the nuts are so rusted on that only one could be removed after applying WD40 to it. I am going to take my car to the shop and they can look at it now. Ive done enough to it and still cant get it to fire.

I'm surprised you have lasted this long with the problem. Did you ever see if one of the guys here was close enough to you to see if they could do a once over for you?

Hopefully whatever shop you go to they take care of you and do it right.
