Default True Duals Setup

Sold my 91' Camaro yesterday now its time for an exhaust for the T/A. i have a general idea of what i want, but theres so many options to consider trying to figure out whats best for my car is making my head spin. i made a generic topic awhile back "exhaust suggestions" looking at different brands but ive done some more research since then.Pretty much what i want is....LT headers, tri y collectors,H pipe,SLP catback system

Yesterday i went to my local GM performance shop to get some advice on setups, the girl went over a bunch of setups with me, she gave me the # of a guy that does custom exhaust systems since i wanted true duals. I called him and told him what i wanted, and he pretty much was trying to steer me away toward a ORY setup, saying that doing TDs would be real expensive and hard because F bodies have hardly any clearance under the car, especially with me wanting to lower the car 1-1/2" later on.

i know Kooks has a true dual system, can anybody vouch for that system?Anybody have a true dual H pipe setup, is it that big a difference from and ORY as far as power goes?

At this point ive decided on kooks LTs, and the SLP catback, everything else im not sure. Help! my head is spinning

IF ya got the coin, kooks would be a nice system. I've never liked a ORY/catback setup and had both an ORH and ORX setup. Liked them both. There have been long debates on which exhaust system flows better and their purposes. Some say dumped TD's are for cars modded to the **** and ORY for less modded cars.

My vote goes for TD's but dumped before the axle.

well i have just barely enough $ to buy the kooks true dual system, but i dont know anyone that has it, dont know what it sounds like, i want a deep slp/magnaflow sounding exhaust so i dont wanna buy the complete TD system then it sounds like flowmasters.

i plan on building the car to 700hp, so maybe right now im better off just going with the Y pipe then later on when im making serious power and have more $ go with the dual setup.

Why not go with the duals right off the bat? Spending money twice is retarded. Youtube the Kooks system. The sound cant be beat and you get what you pay for. Magnaflow is one of the tamer exhausts I have heard and maybe a Loudmouth sounds somewhat deep at idle but its raspy as hell anything above 2000 RPM. Any y-pipe system has some rasp, you wont get that with TDs and you wont get a deeper sound than TDs. Do some research because it sounds like that money is burning a hole in your pocket. Too many young guys on here giving poor advice because they dont have the $.

You cant get it done by a local exhaust shop? That would be my route if I didnt have the money to buy the Kooks System. True duals with a Magnaflow X-Pipe and your desired mufflers. Magnaflow and Borla X-R1s sound beast. You can get most stuff through ebay other than the piping

Um that kooks system aint cheap at $2k +1k for headers cause of course only their headers fit the system + 500 for install.

Some people been telling me it's not worth the $, I'm really only entertaining it because I'd like a true duel system. Maybe I'd just be better getting a 3" y pipe system and save the extra $.

Ya what they list for online isnt what youll pay. Like LPE said call Maryland Speed. I wouldnt pay $500 for an install. Read a writeup and it can be done as long as you have jackstands and some tools.

Thats where I got mine (you have to CALL THEM). I switched from a magnflow catback with pacesetter headers to kooks 1-7/8 with their true dual system. It is a much louder and meaner sounding. I installed all of it the driveway with help from a friend. It took one day.

Also, my car is lowered about 2 inches. The kooks system fits very nicely.

I got full kooks true dual setup, 1 7/8 full lenght headers and no cats. I want to lower mine the same but waiting to minitub it first. Want to make sure they tuck it up nice though. I had to go under and jackup on the xpipe then clamp it down. Not a kit problem just not installed correctly

Anyway sound is awesome def louder and better sounding then stock. It screams at wot. This is with a stock motor yet.

Had people ask me if its cammed all the time and its not lol

Shoot me your email and I have a clip of idle with the exhaust
