Been researching single brake light issue 02 4th
From searching threads, I've learned that brake light issues with a 98-02 can involve pulling the steering to access the multi function switch and that the lights share a common ground. This issue popped up at the drag strip. My tail lights and blinkers work. However, the passenger side brake lights don't. The same day before going to the track they were working. With this in mind I suspect the pedal switch. From researching there was a comment made about the pedal switch having two sides that can be adjusted. Is this true? If so, what the heck does the switch look like? There's all kinds of junk up in there. Thanks fellas.

I'm looking at the GM shop manual for the '98 year. There are two switches that are part of the brake system... the cruise control release switch, and the stop lamp / torque converter clutch switch. Manual transmission cars will also have a Clutch cruise control switch and a cruise control clutch anticipate switch.
The stop lamp switch is located on the right side of the brake pedal assembly, just below the bracket mount on the right top. You'll see two switches there, the top one is the cruise control release, and the bottom is the stop lamp switch. It has wiring coming out of the bottom of it.
Here you go... it's #3 in this picture. I know it says "hydraulic brakes" but that's the only section of the manual they have this in.
The manual doesn't say anything about it having two sides to adjust, it simply says to adjust it so the contacts should be open at 25.4 mm or 1" or less of pedal travel. There are multiple switches that need to be adjusted, but that's it. The schematic of the ABS system also does not show it having two separate sides.

Dude. That's it. I remember know having the same issue with my Dodge Ram. It definetly was the action at the track, and me mashing the pedal too hard was the culprit. Gonna hit it up Monday after work. I owe you one

If your thread is gone, look for it here...
Instead of random posts about miscellaneous mechanical issues in the Firebird-specific forum, try and get a diagnosis of your problem(s) in the General Maintenance & Repairs FAQ sticky. If you can't find a resolution to your issue there, then feel free to start a new thread.
Thanks for your cooperation,
