No coil wire ??

Exclamation No coil wire ??

Looking online for spark plug wires for my 98 Firebird, 38000 distributorless ,V pain in the ***,,er,,I mean V6 & kept seeing under specs "no coil wire included.,so went to Autozone & asked,was told it didn't matter.Don't know if that was true or he was wanting to make a sell.Can anyone help me out here? honestly, your not making a whole lot of sense, please retype your post.

the V6 system is setup pretty straight forward, you have the Coil Packs (listed as Ignition Coil on parts websites), then from the coil packs you have regular spark plug wires, and then spark plugs.

what are you looking at that lists under specs "no coil wire included"?

autozone online had Duralast ign wires for $22. Looked at the specs for them & 1/2 down the list it says coil wire included ---no --- Sorry if my post didn't make sense ,,but hell I'm a girl lol

probably just an old format used to describe products when you need the coil wire for older vehicles. coil on plug you just need the six wires.

this links to a picture to show folks what the coil wire is. This is for older ignition systems using an ignition coil, not to be confused with the current coil on plug set up for many new vehicles.

Hey Deb, welcome to LS1tech!

I had to look at your other posts to see you have a 98 car.

A set of ACDelco wires for a 1998 F-body 3800 V6 is number 9706x. They run around 25~30 bucks.

The AutoZone website shows seven different sets available.

Thanks for info.Wished I still had my 84 Trans am,alot less hassel.This is the 1st fuel injected car I've had & I've always worked on my own cars but guess I have alot to learn on this one
