When I had my lt1 I went with pacesetter longtubes, 3" ORY, 3" x-pipe kit, and two flow master super 44s dumped before the rear axle. Sounded awesome with the lope from the cam.

On my old 1994 Z-28 Camaro I had a Flowmaster 80 series muffler and I think it sounded pretty good.

"Best" is an opinion. It's whatever sounds good to you. There's a few sound clips here:

I have the Borla and McCord electric butterfly valve where you normally install the orifice plate. You can adjust the "noise" level :-)

those are all great systems and they all sound great with long tubes. I have pace setter long tubes with duel exhaust with load mouths and my car sets off car alarms and I love it! and with a good cam they sound bad ***!

I was always partial to the slp loundmouth on lt1 cars, but it lives up to its name about the loud part.

I have the 2OTL exhaust. Sounds real clean and deep and not raspy. The cutout is for the loudness and fun factor. I can't wait to hear what my longtubes sound like through the cutout and 2OTL.
