Default Low Mileage WS6 Build - hardbones old car!

Hi Guys,

Was asked to start a new thread. I wont be posting up everything being done as some of it's secret and I know a few locals lurk here.

History:

Bought the car from a member here - hardbones - his original thread is here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...-climbing.html

Some pics of the car and how it looked when I bought it:

When I bought the car, it was for $20,000 - why did I buy such an expensive car with such low miles with the intention of doing this to it? Well - a few reasons. It's unmolested. Frame is straight as an arrow, and I wanted something that was as close to bone stock as possible with little use.

Money really was not a factor.

and here is the car as of today:

[/QUOTE]

Some major weight reduction is underway, all creature comforts are gone (AC/Heat/Stereo) Interior is gone, motor/trans sold for some pretty good money, and some other stuff is also for sale.

Plans are kind of secret, as I do some street racing and plan to do Grudge Racing at the track. She's gonna be a trailer queen but still able to drive on the street.

Build should be finished in about 4-5 weeks from now.

Just put this on order too!

Looks like a nice build taking place there! I can very well understand wanting to start with a clean unmolested car as I wish I'd have done the same thing when I picked up mine.

I was all for hardbones driving and modding that car. What you are doing is borderline stupid. Sorry for the harshness, but I really feel it's true. This pisses me off. Maybe I'll come around. I haven't had coffee yet.

Crazy approach, but understandable. It's your ride.

Money was not a factor. Yeah, I say that all the time.

Its some place in PA - my builder knows them and they are really kinda specialty and dont even have a website. Kinda like a "Small shop that has more work then they know what to do with" type scenario I guess. Only reason I got it is cause he knows the guy.

Your opinion :-) I have my reasons, and anyone who builds stupid fast stuff will tell you that starting from something like this ends up saving you $$$ down the road.

There is no shortage of FBodys, especially low mileage ones really. It's not like it could have gone to BJ and auctioned for $50k or something.

So far, in parting out what I did not need, I have recouped close to $13,000.

The car cost me $20,000. A nice tube chassis car would have cost me double what I have into it right now after parting out.

Anybody know of a Sunoco style hood for a 98-02 Firebird?
