Default 6.2 into an 02 T/A?

I have an 02 WS6 that is gonna need a motor soon. I got a good deal on a 6.2 out of a Denali. I know the intake would need to be a car style. I want to keep it cable driven and use the stock wiring harness. I don't have a problem swapping the crank tone ring to the 24 tooth. I'm also looking at a cam swap and pull the VVT and DOD solenoids. What else would I need to do? Thank you in advance.

Intake and oil pan swapped. I think there is differences in the front cover for cam sensor and of course a tune. Other than that I haven't a clue, hope this helps in some way.

Thanks. I think it'll be a pretty simple swap all in all. Just don't want to get into the swap and realize oop's. I need that or need to do that.

The 6.2 is 58x and your car is setup for 24x. You would have to get the Lingfelter converter box or change out the reluctor wheel and sensor. You also need to extend your cam harness to the front and relocate the knock sensors. Also you would want to go with a LS3 intake.

accessory positions are different as well I believe. I think the alt will get in the way of the TB if you go to a non truck intake.

His car is a T/A so I would assume he already has Fbody accessories.

I am aware of that...........

not sure if the 6.2's have the lower alt bolt positions drilled and tapped either. I know that was an issue for those swapping to 6.0 iron blocks but im not sure how much of the block exterior changed with ls3 variants though I assume not much on the outside.

I think I read somewhere that the ls1 type Knock sensors were not that great being mounted to the outside of the block though there is a place for them might want to look into that as well.

I am gonna run the fbody belt system, but I need to look to see about the alternator location. Like what was said. Does it have the lower mounting location ability. Knock sensors will be deleted.
