My first Firebird was a 1974 Esprit. Bright Red with a black interior. The first car I owned with working AC and power windows. Don't have any pictures of the actual car but this one is close. It had an under hood fire because the previous owner was a hack who screwed up the carb changing the fuel filter. A small puddle of gas caught up burning about 8 inches of wires on the passenger side of the engine. Spliced in new wires and drove the car for 3 years until it was time to move on. Had 7 more 2nd gens between that car and the black 78 TA I owned when we had our first kid in 94. Baby seats don't work well in these cars so it was sold and a more door became my regular ride for the next 2+ decades.
Had some antiques for a few years after that but none of them were really fun to drive. Fast forward to May '21 when I see an ad for a 2000 WS6 Convertible in Bright Red with Black interior. I was hooked when I was still 30 feet away. My first and only 4th gen so far. I'm the 3rd owner 55,000 original miles completely stock and original and I mean original. The only items that were replaced is a Vararam was added, plugs and wires the rims and tires (have originals) an that's it. Replaced the idlers and belts radiator and hoses including that miserable heater hose set. Added a shock tower brace and am slowly getting parts together to improve performance. Starting with an LS6 intake and throttle body upgrade some exhaust work and that's about what I can afford this year. We took it to the Adirondack Nationals back in September about a 750 mile round trip and it didn't skip a beat. Quick comfortable and decent gas mileage this TA has it all. Wanted one of these when they were new but was kid rich and house poor at the time so it wasn't in the cards then. Older and better off now so this is my retirement toy.
1st owned Pontiac- 1984 Trans Am. I got this when I was 16 back in June 1991 with a loan from my parents after my first car burned to the ground. I had this for about 19 years in total (though it was in storage while I went to college and stated my first job) In 2005 I drove from CA to pick it up in upstate NY and brought it back here. I performed an LS1 swap in 2005 and getting a proper manual transmission in this (and an emissions legal certification in 07) and sold it in 2008. Pictured is a shot in 2008 or so just before I sold it. It's now immortalized as a Hot Wheels vehicle, too.
I bought this 6 speed 1995 T/A in NJ in 1999 when I was working there and had this and the '84 (above). When I moved to CA in 2000 I drove this car out west (leaving my '84 behind while I got things in order) had it here in socal for a few years, added some bolt ons (AFR heads, cat back exhaust, aluminum driveshaft, 3:73 gears, CAI etc) and sold it 2005 or so.
I bought this '68 Firebird and fixed it up (pic is part way through) it was a 350 car. had it for a few years and sold it.
In 2009 I bought this '67 Firebird from up in San Jose, Ca. Neat survivor with a loaded option list, but it was rusty and the original drivetrain was gone. it was a 326HO car. I tore it down 100% (acid dipped 2x to remove rust) and rebuilt it to the "BVbird" shown below over the course of 5.5 years. There's a full build thread on Lateral-G if interested. Pic is as bought, and 2nd pic is what it is now. It too is a Hot Wheels mainline, premium, and ID car.
This #'s matching 1968 Firebird 400 was a flipper I found on ebay. the car didn't sell for whatever reason and I picked up for a deal, and used some rust free parts from it for my car then sold it. $$ proceeds (on top of better metal for my car) funded an air compressor and other parts for my '67 build.
This most recent '#'s matching 68 Firebird ended up being another flip, though it wasn't necessarily my intention. The deal fell in my lap (literally, I went to work on a Friday morning and it was offered to me for a price I couldn't refuse) and brought it home that afternoon. There was a Pomona swap meet that Sunday (first one since covid) so I had a friend take it there and put a stupid high price on it, and it sold before 8am. so I had it for less than 48 hours and nearly doubled my money. Proceeds went for the rebuild of the 454 in my other car which I needed. I would have liked to have kept this one and made it a driver, but someone else wanted it more.
Not shown is a '69 Firebird project I bought (no pics) that I had for a short time, and 2x parts car 1984 Trans Ams I had bought over the years for parts...
First one was a 1991 GTA 5.7L hardtop, white with grey leather interior. Bought it when my 1987 IROC-Z would no longer pass emission testing. Sold both to buy a new 2000 Camaro SS. The GTA was a very nice car, I just missed the T-tops, and also never really warmed up to the 91-92 restyling. Here's a pic, not mine.
I only have one photo of it, from a film camera. Its around somewhere, with me standing in front of it with a lot more hair.
The second (and current) Firebird) is the 1999 Firehawk, which I have owned for more than 20 years. Here she is.
First firebird for me was a '94 25th Anniversary T/A that I bought in 1999 from the original owner. I then added a second identical car (both were 6-speed, T-top, CD) in 2003 from the original owner with 8,900 miles on it. I had both cars for awhile before selling the first car.
in 2010 I purchased this Navy Blue Metallic '99 Formula WS6 6-speed from the original owner to use as my daily driver. I had 2 kids in car seats for several years and this thing was not the most practical but I didn't stop driving it daily.
I recently purchased this 2000 Formula WS6 6-speed with 10k miles from the original owner.

That '99 NBM Formula WS6 M6 is one of 20 built and the '00 Pewter Formula WS6 M6 is one of 32 built (one of 6 M6 Formulas w/ the N66 "Salad Shooter" wheels). Fine and rare machines.
My First:
1986 2.8 V6 Auto, back in 1999. Gutless but mint and sounded like chewbacca
Currently:
The one I really wanted back in 1999. 1998 WS6 M6, 89,000 KM, also mint. Only mods: lowered on BMRs, Magnaflow catback, full stereo replacement plus stealth box, tinted, skip shift delete.
My first was a stock 1969. I was in high school and have no photo. My second was a 1969 Trans Am clone with side pipes. Wish I hadnt sold it. I now have seven from 1995 to 2002. Here are some of them
I have 4 verts. 1995, 1997, 2001, 2002 They are sort of rough though stole some because owners thought the leaking manifold gaskets were blown motors, lol
