AND the right amount of it. While the WS6 and Firehawks have unique VIN numbers, which help, they do not always amount to what you think you would have for coverage.
I chose not to have a rider for all the extras I put my car, and it may end up costing me $5500 in parts, and another $1800 in labor!
AS A WORD TO THE WISE: Check with your insurance company and ask them what you would get TODAY, if your car was a total loss. If they can't tell you, have them put you in contact with the "total loss department" and find out. You will be amazed to find out!
My Firehawk was worth $42K plus I WILL HAVE TO PAY 3 years of higher insurance rates, EVEN THOUGH it was HER FAULT! That alone will amount to over $3600 for me. I have several expensive cars, and the discount applies to all of them! I lose it for 3 years minimum, provided I am accident free. I HAVE never had an accident that was my fault, but this is the way the insurance companies do it. THEY HAVE done a job on us in Washington with all their high priced lobbyists! YOU do not even have the right to make them replace your car anymore!

I was very adamant about my Hawk when I talked to State Farm. I let them no in no uncertain terms that we were not talking about a "run of the mill" Trans Am, but a highly priced, individually numbered specialty vehicle and they acknowledged that my policy stated as such. Not sure if that's really on record or not since I've only got a verbal response, so I guess it's worth checking out. GOD Forbid anything happens to mine...

You need a "stated value" policy for specialty cars . This is a an agreement between you and the ins.co. as to the actual value of the car. You will need to get the car appraised, go to the ins.co. and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING! Walking into your insurance company and saying "My car is worth XXXXX$$$$ !" isn't going to hold up in court. A stated value policy is the only way to cover yourself and even then , some companies will STILL try to screw you. A certain company that claims to be "on your side" , ISN"T.
