Default Years to avoid?

I am in the market for an LS1 WS6 but I was wondering if there were any years to avoid or what years are better then others, if there are any. Anything to look for/be careful of when buying one of these? This is my 1st F-body (when I get it) so I am rather new to this type of vehicle.

Thanks everyone.

That link should be all you need, the years that are "better" than the others would be 01-02 due to the ls6 intake, better built M6's, and some more minor stuff, other than that an ls1 is an ls1 is an ls1. There are minor things that offset the ls6 intake such as bigger stock cams and larger injectors. but you you can get it get a 01 or 02.

I'd like to add to the '01 or '02 being the best choice. intake, lack of egr, OIL PUMP, and the '02 got better clutch and valvesprings.

'01 is about 15% and the '02 about 25%. Besides the color and casting number on the rear of the block, you can see a " bullseye" at the front of the block above the waterpump. That is an LS1. If that bullseye is filled in it's the LS6. FYI.

That is correct. Only *some* do. An LS6 block has a better cooling system for one. I'm sure someone can go into details. Will you notice anything different stock? NOPE!

i want the 07 model. 01-02 IMO cause of !EGR, better clutch and master cylinder, and LS6 intake. 99-00 for the possible price difference. 98 has some differences that are less than desired like a slightly different computer that is supposively less capable, different valvecovers(more or less bolts, can't remember which).
