Default Was yellow ever a stock T/A Color?

i recently purchased the below poster and it sais that the T/A is a 1998 w/ millenium yellow paint. Anyone know if it was a factory color and have pics of any? I did notice that it doesnt have the side molding on the door and rear fender in front of the tire and there is no raised Trans Am emblem on the door either so that leads to that it might be custom paint.

Although it should have been, it is not a factory color. I think the last time they made factory yellow, and correct me if i'm wrong, was back in the IROC days. But of course that was a Camaro.

There were many years with shades of yellow prior to the 4th generation (93-02), but in the 4th-gens there was only Sunfire Yellow in 1993 and 1994, and Collector Edition Yellow in 2002. (Both of which were not available on Camaros. The last time Camaros had a yellow available was in 1988.) Sport Gold was available in 1998 on both the Firebird line and the Camaro line (and 5 Camaros in 1999).

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....1&postcount=15 :
In 2002 of course, there were Collector Edition Yellow Trans Ams... 2,391 of those

According to http://www.f-body.org/tech/4th_gen.htm :

In 1993, there were 196 total Firebirds/Formulas/TAs (no Camaros) produced in yellow.

In 1994, there were 304 Firebirds/Formulas/TAs (no Camaros) in yellow, and the color was dropped from the lineup in mid-year.

Sport Gold Metallic was added in 1998.
And according to https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-firebird-1967-2002/187975-how-much-1994-sunfire-yellow-firehawk-worth.html , there were 16 yellow Firehawks made in 1994 out of 500 total Firehawks.

Why would they call two different shades of yellow by the same name? The '93-'94 Yellow was much brighter than the softer Collector Edition yellow.

Like I said, the collector edition color is Sunfire Yellow (code 54U), go to the dealer (or email GMpartsdirect.com, or better yet go to collectorfbody.com) and ask for some touch up paint, see if you don't get sunfire yellow.

You guys are right about Collector Yellow = Sunfire Yellow, but they were promoted under different names so I tend to call them separately

And I've got a news flash! Just learned that in 1992, there were a very small number of Firebirds made in a color called 'Jamaica Yellow', code 52.

Apparently there were 41 or 47 Formulas made in this color (including the very first 1992 F-body built, VIN sequence # 000001, with the 1LE package - out of 1052 total Formulas), 14 GTAs (out of 508 total GTAs), and 23 base Firebirds.

1993 and 1994 had Sunfire Yellow and they brought it back in 2002 for the Collector Edition, although this was already said. My friend had 1 of 69 1993 Firebird Formulas in that color with black ZR1's, but he sold it a few days ago.
