Default Newb Here. Federal Emissions Warranty question.

Hi all,

I just picked up a 2000 T/A yesterday and she threw a code. Took her into Autozone to get a scan and was told that my drivers side Catalytic Converter was stopping up. Code read something like "Catalyst Bank 1 below threshold"

The question is should I have any issues with getting the CAT replaced and do they replace one or both.

Any input would be appreciated.

You would be better off trying to find a used stock y off someone who istalled headers, or an ory.

Thx...Well the car only has 57k on it and, I think warranty lasts until 80k. If all was coming from my own pocket, I would change the exhaust completely.

I installed hooker LT's, and got rid of the cat problem completely.

You shouldn't have any problems or costs out of your pocket. They will only replace the one that is bad. I had the same problem.

Posted the exact same thing at https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls1-owners-newbie-tech/312657-newb-here-federal-emissions-warranty-question.html - no need to bump a thread after just less than one hour, btw!

Looks like catalytic converters are part of the federal emissions warranty, covered for 8 years / 80,000 miles.
