Thanks man!! I can't wait till this project is finally done. It's been a long time since I started the research on putting an LS1 based engine in.

If all goes well, the car should be done by August.

Damn looks nice. Good lucky buddy. I'd want to do a conversion like that one day. Soon enough maybe.

A death at the shop set the project back, still probably 6 weeks or so away from completion. Newest pics (of the engine) are up, just click on the link in the sig.

Just got the word yesterday that the engine is now IN the car. More pics to come soon.

Very cool! That has to be super exciting to know it's getting close to completion. I've seen Bruce's LS1-powered Formula at the T/A Nats, and his shop does great work.

That is going to be one sweet Bird. What are those LS2/T56 setups going for, price wise?

Very nice...I like the 4th gen spoiler on the rear. Just curious how the lines of the spoiler line up with the square body lines of the 3rd Gen. Does it look out of place or like it actually belongs there?

Yes, VERY exciting. Bruce wants me to go down in a few weeks and drive it for a day, see what I like and don't like so he can set it up to my satisfaction. I'm gonna have to learn HOW to drive it though, LOL!!

Well, you can get the basic LS2 402 stroker short block from SDPC for about $4k. However, mine is a completely custom setup. Callies forged crank, Manley pro-billet rods, custom Diamond forged pistons, the whole nine yards. Top that off with ported/milled LQ9 heads, Jantzer ported/polished throttle body, and the top end off my 2001 LS1 engine, and I've probably got around $12k in the complete engine.

The T56 I bought used for $1100.

The spoiler is an aftermarket 4th gen design that's been designed to fit a 3rd gen, so the lines have been blended....... it looks like it was factory, and looks VERY much like it belongs there.
