How do i remove the T-top holders from my car?

Default How do i remove the T-top holders from my car?

This is probably the wrong forum, but i just wanna know how to remove the t-top holders in my rear hatch area of my 98 Trans Am?

If you look, there are two holes in each holder, that is where the holders are bolted to the car just take an extension not for sure about the nut size and take the two nuts off and the holders will slide off the studs.

if they are the same as mine than its a 10mm deep socket.

Dude you rule! I was about to ask what size it was, becuase i realized i needed a deep socket, but couldn't even fit the regular ones inside to see waht size it was!!!!

I wanna put a bigger sub box in the trunk, and i don't use them anyway, so i figure might as well take them out if it will free up room.

did the same thing here except i didnt put the sub box there, got the amp mounted in that area

Thats why I removed mine, built a box for two Kicker Solo-Baric 12s, had no problem fitting them back there after I removed the t-top holders then got serious about drag racing and the extra weight had to go.

I got lucky... My small *** 10 " sub box right in.... just need to get the tail lights to stop rattling

I was gonna do this but not for stereo crap. With the tops off i dont even have room for my what little tools i bring, i want to do a bag setup like my 88 camaro has. Anyone tried this?
