*** Kicking.

And Z06 stands for Steel Toed *** Kicking. Those 2 badges are reserved for the best cars GM produces. Cars for real men.

They use RS SS and Z28 for the poseur cars to compete with the "Type R" crowd.

Seriously, WS6 doesn't stand for anything. It's an option code, just like Z28 and Z06.

like any rpo code you cant break it down and it have a literal meaning , just like trying to translate a different language word by word, it wont make sense
but...... on a related subject , is GTA a option code also? or does it have a literal meaning?

So your car must have the "YUK" RPO code?

That's smokin' hot! What color lights? Red would look sweet with the color of your Nova.

Well, if you had the "YUK" package on your car, you should also have the RPO codes of "POS" and "FBR" on there.

I was hoping to find some yellow stem caps and maybe a few red gauges, then some blue ones. Gotta get the right vibe, ya dig?

okay we went

Back to the original question, the "WS6" option first appeared in 1969 as an "power assist group package." The next record I could find was 1978, when it became "Trans Am Special Performance Package" with a larger rear sway bar, 15 x 8 "snowflake" wheels and 225/70/15 raised wheel letter tires. 1982 was the first year I found with record stating the WS6 package included 4-wheel power disc brakes, 15 x 7" aluminum wheels with Goodyear GT tires, limited slip rearend, special steering, firmer shocks and springs, and larger front/rear sway bars.

GTA stands for Gran Tourismo Americano (Kind of a Homage to the GTO (gran tourismo omologato). The actual code for the GTA package was Y84.

GTP stands for Grand Touring Platform.

And yes, as everyone else said, WS6 is just an option code.

Just got this book. Wouldn't recommend buying it though unless you're die-hard. Just about everything in it you can find on this site, heh.

Anyway, the first chapter seems to explain RPO codes pretty well.
