Question What the F**K is that squeak!!!!

I have a 2002 Trans-Am, and in the cold weather it squeaks in the rear section. The only thing that I can think of is the lower control arm bushings or the shocks. This did the same thing to me in my last Trans-Am, it was a 1996, and the sound went away in the summer, help!!!

I found a similar squeek and fixed it recently...you'll never guess what it is...the frickin back seat where it locks into place by the seatbelts.

I did a little write up in the maintenance and repair section, about the success I got using white lithium grease on the bushing on all the rear suspension parts,
shocks, sway bars, etc...
here is the link
https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-maintenance-repairs/420039-those-squeaky-suspension-especially-cold-here-solution.html

hope that help in any way

Thats what it is in my Camaro. Freaking drove me nuts until I found out what it was. It comes back after I put down the seats and don't put them back up correctly. its the latch to lower the seat. if both sides are on correctly, maybe a light amount of grease (just a thin film) or a paper/carboard shim to use as a gasket/shim will fix it for ya

I know what you guys are talking about regarding the seat latch squeaking. However I think this guy is talking about the suspension squeak. In that case, check out what cedric85745 said and lubricate all the bushings and connections in the suspension.

When I had the seat latch problem in my 97 Bird, I just wrapped a little bit of electrical tape around each of the metal pieces that the latches hook on to. Took care of it completely.

It's happened on my Formula. I greased the panhard bar and lca bushings and the squeaks havn't been back since. The cold weather is the final straw for needy bushings.

Happend to me on my 96 as well. I'd go with lubing the underside. That sounds kind of bad, but you know what I mean!

Not as bad as when my wife heard me say that I was going to sell my rear end to some guy. She wouldn't let that go for a while.
