Default 1978 Firebird Formula Paint job

Just bought a 1978 formula. Had one when I was younger and still love the 77 and 78 birds. Never liked the T/A as much.
Looking for ideas, pictures or sketches of unique paint jobs that would look completely different from a factory paint job. NO Flames !
All I see are standard paint jobs on everyones Firebirds.
Help !

Try a site that caters to the second-gen 'bird. This is primarily a fourth-gen site.

How about factory colors that weren't available back then? Like the Electron Blue that was available on the Z06 Corvette, or Navy Blue Metallic that was available on the LS1 f-bodies? I bet that would look nice.

Thanks for the info. Looks like everyone likes versions of Blue. Also, Y2K, this forum is supposed to be for firebirds from 67 to 2002. Just like the subheading states.

Thanks guys, What about Candy apple red?

Thanks for clearing that up for me.....I am one of the moderators of this forum if you hadn't noticed. I was simply trying to help you get the best answer as quickly as possible. Since you're a new member, I'm sure you weren't aware that most of the threads that appear in this forum concern the fourth-gen 'birds.

can't we all just play nice we all love the platform just because this is a fourth gen site does that mean that we are now all seperating by years?
Truthfully I love all the years with the exception of the 3rd gen but that is just me and as for a paint job my 78 TA is going to be either a dark midnight blue with a painted chamelon eagle or a stock blue from that year and also a handpainted eagle. What ever the shade it is going to be blue. I love bandit colors but those are all over the place and I think being different is what makes the car special. just my .02

Greg,
You have the same opinion as I do. I also think there are far too many Black "Bandit" Trans ams. They are sexy, but, like yourself, I want to break away from the ordinary and not paint it stock.
I am now buying 1/24 scale Johnny Lightning die-cast 77/78 Firebirds and painting them with many different ideas and comparing them. This is the cheapest way of looking at my car without paying thousands of dollars to find I don't like the colour.
