Since I have done my recent SLP mods, which wasn't cheap I have yet to run into any other worthy cars on the road. Bottom Line, I HATE losing, I have all the confidence in the world in my cars performance I am close to 400 hp. Are there any cars out there to be a little leary of, modded or not. People always ask me if I can take a C5/C6 Vette, 05 GTO, or an 03/04 Cobra. I have never ran into any on the road, but just wondering what you all think. Any other cars, not necessarily muscle cars to worry about, hell in my highly modded 96 Formula M6, I lost to my cousin's 97 grand prix GTP. Granted it sounds like V8, it had headers, differ pulleys on supercharger, cammed, everything u could get out of a 3800, but I still lost.

With your current mods you will lose (but not by much) to:
1) '03-'04 Cobra with just and exhaust, cold air.. doesn't even really need the pulley.
2)C6 'Vette
3)C5 Zo6

Driver's race:
1)C5 'Vette (LS1)
2)lightly modded f-body
3)'05 GTO
4)Hyundai Elantra GT
5)Dodge SRT8 powered vehicles

You WILL win against:
1)'04 GTO
2)Any non-supercharged Mustang
3)LT1 powered 'Vette or f-body
4)SRT4 Neon
5)Evo,WRX,
6)Anything with Honda or Acura on the hood including the new TL.

400hp is probably average if i was to guess. I understand you hate to loose, but thats where money comes into play. I'll be in missouri soon enough and maybe we can talk a little bit more.

Ya if you are in the Kansas City area, let me know, my girlfriend wants an 02 SS Camaro....but she can't find any...we can run em...I should have more mods coming, birthday at the end of april....you will have to turn the happy gas off....i'm no where close to the "11 second club".......

Actually, some guys I know put a garret turbo on one and it had an electric cutout so it could sound totally stock, then flip a switch and it had an open downpipe. They never took it to the track, but that car straight up hauled ***...untill they popped the motor...then they took the turbo off and had the motor replaced under warranty, put the turbo back on and put the car up for sale.

You should have saved your money on the SLP stuff. THe lid and the catback are the onyl two things really giving you any difference. THe rockers are maybe 5-6hp the maf may have cost your hp and the hand held tuner eh............

The calibration isn't always dead on. Some shops won't even dyno tune your car unless you have the stock maf on. The stock maf should always be used unless you're making more than 600hp. There are guys running huge power adders and the stock maf is no problem. That's the one stock part that should always be kept.

GM High Tech magazine did a test and it gained 4 peak hp, but lost way more all through the power curve. If you have ANY aftermarket maf you should put the stock one back on and sell the aftermarket deal to some other poor sucker.

How do you have close to 400 hp with just exhaust/lid/rockers. I dont see that happening by a long shot, sorry.

from your mods and the "SLP power pack 380hp" thats a 380hp crank rating...you'd be lucky to put 330wheel horse power. with this being said, you have a long way to go and there isnt whole lot out there that you'll be able to beat.

on the stock MAF issue...im with Firehawk on this one. use your stock maf. aftermarket mafs are useless pretty much and rob you of power. im still using a stock maf and im a tad bit over 600rwhp on spray with no problems. goodluck.

w/ 400hp in an m6, you should beat a 03/04 cobra! be carefull if they have a pulley and tune on it, though! THAT JUST MAKES IT A DRIVERS RACE! my brother had a 98 z-28 w/ only a big cam and NO TUNE walk many a 03/04 cobras. i have put the spank on some as well in my car and i am only making 412rwhp/401rwtq! PUT THE SAUCE ON IT AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS with any of them cars in that list... except the elantra gt...

I don't have 400 horse...hense the "close to" part of my statement.....I drove an 04 cobra the other day 400horse car and i'm sure i could hang with if not beat....felt no different than my car....after headers,y pipe, cats i'll have 400.........i'm trying to get the greatest amount of horses w/o pulling engine and doing cam...heads and all that fun stuff

I called slp and they said just becareful of my timing so i dont have kr and it will be fine. As long as i tune it in i will gain. slp tech told me that. but im not saying their gods by any means.

If you mean the grey one with the huge wing in the back, and you live in Houston, I believe I got my *** handed to me as well when he paid a visit to Austin! Him and the C6 Z06 I raced were the two worst *** whuppins I've ever had!

im sorry but any car can beat another car, depends how much money you have into it.

When i use to go watch the street races there was an old school escort that looked like **** eating f-bodies. and a guy i know has a silverado ss with a magnacharger and he would eat almost anything, because its awd and that thing has 20s on it from the factory and he would spin all 4 tires through first.
