Sad news...
Im very sad to announce the passing of my 95 TA, I had a blow out on a wet road, and the aftermath of that is the unfortunate death of my TA....However the money Im getting out of selling the motor on top of a small loan from the bank is keeping me alive in the Firebird community. In no more than a weeks time I will be the proud owner of a 2002 T-Top firebird. 54k and change, one of the sickest paint jobs ive seen on a car in a long time, leather interior....for only 6000. The only fact of the situation that hurts me is that I'm now going to be driving a V6 instead of having the LT1 that I did have. However my future plans for this new car do involve me dropping an LS6 down into the car. Any idea's for the car when I get it would be appreciated. Pics will be posted ASAP.

Yer gonna hate the power drop within days, ..., mark my words, ...
That'd be the last thing I'd do, go from the LT1 down to the V6.
Hell, I'd buy an old fox-body 302v8 Mustang before I'd drop to the V6 Firebird.

Ive had to drive my moms 96 bird when my LS1 has been in the shop. Definately NOT the same. The interior is almost exactly the same so I feel like Im in my car...until I push the clutch in or try to accelerate.
V6 power makes me sad nowdays.

The insurance is almost the same v6 = v8.

Unless you're totally committed to the car, it's just too much trouble to convert a late model daily driver from a V6 to a V8. Yes, it's been done but I wouldn't bother with it. Our cars are still to plentiful to go to all that trouble. You'll be better off in the long run to drive the V6 car until you can afford to resell/trade it for a V8 'bird. Plus you can still put a killer paint job on the car and be money ahead.
Thanks for the input guys, Ive made a change in plans....mostly because of the finicial strain that would put on me....6000 just isnt possible with the cost of school, apartment, bills for me. Fixing my car isnt possible either, frame has been totally screwed. But I did fall in love with these cars as a kid because of the power they had, so a V6 really doesnt make sense, I dont know what I was even thinking, and you all are right...I would hate myself for it. I have however got a body to transfer everything over to, $500 for a 1995 trans am body. Now all I have to do is switch the motor, entire interior, hood, fenders (No damage to the front of mine during the wreck...only back end damage), and wheels over to the new body and I'll be fully functional again. Wish me luck on the timetable of this considering I have classes three times per week and a full time 3rd shift job, and until then im driving a sunfire
. My dad did have a nice thing to say to me about even thinking about getting a v6...."If it doesnt have more spark plugs than gears....there is something wrong with driving it".
Thanks for all the input guys.

Just bought a'99 T/A red convertible with 31,000 miles on it and the only regrets I have was wasting six years of my life driving a'95 vert bird with the 3.4 six.Didn't know what I was missing....you will know if you buy the six!
