Default New beater--Whatcha think?

Paid $4750, like it sits but those are my extra rims from my other car. I spent a couple hours buffing it today, needs brakes but otherwise runs great. 114K on it and everything works. Its a 94 formula, BTW. Its been painted, not very well I might add. Needs a WS6 hood something fierce.

Oh trust me, its rough. The front nose piece needs painted, its spiderwebbed. The seats are very worn, the hood has recieved the bulk of the shitty paint work, the rear bumper needs painted, the passenger side power window motor is out, the speakers sound awful, the radio controls don't work on the steering wheel, etc.

Its what I call a nice "20 footer".

My Z28 is still being built, so I had no fun car to drive, and since my new setup will be pushing 700 rwhp I figure I better have a backup.

Plus I just like LT1 formulas, one of my dream cars. Its one of those cars I've always liked but never owned, because I bought something "better". I just have a soft spot for them, kind of like Fox body mustangs.

Now I just have to resist the urge to mod it.......

well since you've got an LT1 and an LS1 on your insurance bill, is an LT1 any cheaper?

beater?

Thats a Formula w/ ZR1's.

I paid 4400 ( im a dealer ) for my 95 Z with 80K when I bought it 2 years ago.
My Z is MINT, inside out, and i thought that was a good deal.

Well, yes and no. I only have liability on the Formula, and the Z is on my dads ins. policy. Its ridiculous I have to put my frigging car on my dads ins. when I'm married, 28, a homeowner, perfect driving record, and have it as a low use vehicle. I'm the primary driver, even though its in his name. But my ins. co wants to charge me double to put it in my name. Dumbasses.

Both policys are the same price, if that gives you any idea how bad they are trying to *** rape me.

Otherwise they are actually very close in price if we were comparing apples to apples.

ouch that's pretty bad, have you tried getting quotes from other places? I know state farm's rates were out of the question so we went to liberty mutual. It was over 1k less the first year, but now we don't know how much it's going up.

My daily drive (beater) is a '94 Formula M6 with full bolt ons, 130k miles and it only needs to have the gas tank flushed and a new fuel pump would be nice.

I put on polished 5 spoke wheels from a wrecked '96 and the car is rock solid for the most part.

for a rough car, isnt that price a little high? I could of bought a 95 Z28 for $2k 2 years ago, in the same condition your formy is at, or are formys more than Z's? I dunno Iv been out of the used f-body market for quite a while. Good looking beater thought!

Low retail on it is $4000, and high was around $5800. This cleans up half *** nice, and has only minor problems, maintenance really. Brakes, PW motor, fluids, no biggie. It runs so damn smooth and quiet its scary. It had a big exhaust leak that actually made it sound kinda tough, but I fixed it and now its really quiet.

I looked at a couple Z's of similar condition, both were over $5K. I wanted T tops and really like black, so this was the choice. My 2002 Z28 is black, and my wifes grand prix is black. People think I'm nuts. But nothings better than a clean black car. Those 2 or 3 minutes that it stays clean after you spend 4 hours polishing it are worth it!

I'll have about $5000 in it after fixing everything, so its not too bad. I think I can get that back out of it if I had to.
