I'm assuming you have TBI. I went with an Edelbrock TBI intake on my 91. It didn't make any diff. I had Headers, Chip, Underdrive pulleys, Flowmaster, Intake, switched from 2.73 to 3.42 gears, & got a new TB. The car still didn't run very well. I ended up buying a 350 TBI out of a truck & rebuilt it & added a new Cam & heads. It was putting out 300-325 HP. I wish I had went with the 350 from the begining. Don't wast your money on the 305.

Well there are several routes to choose from but if it is a stock 305 TPI I would say that new runners from SLP would be a decent (and not too expensive - about half of the HSR, Mini-ram, etc) way to go. There is also the Holley Stealth Ram, The Miniram, LT1 intake and one other (if memory serves) but those are generally better/more for cars with other mods......cam, heads, etc. If you are JUST going to change the intake, I would go with new runners, otherwise you will be spending a lot of money on something that is better suited for a car with many more mods. Just my $.02

If you don't like SLP, TPiS sells TPI intake upgrades as well.

You may also want to consider a set of headers & a catback.......that will help out with breathing and sound.

It can't hurt but general concencus (sp?) is that a 305 won't get the same gains that a 350 will (obviously) so watch how much money you drop into that guy....nothing wrong with a built up 305, don't get me wrong, just saying you will be severely limited by it's size at some point. If you are going to go with really big mods (heads, cam, s/c, etc) then I would look for a 350 block to replace that 305 with.

I had a worked up 305 TPI '92 and loved it. 5 speed and lots of fun. Only thing about the intake I changed were the runners........of course that was also back in 1992.....

I was planninng on dropping a 350 in it at some point. Do you know where I can get a new 350 for a decent price? I am going to change the exhaust, initake and maybe put headers on it. I think I should wait to put headers on it untill i put a 350 in it.

Put the headers on the 305 and swap them onto your 350 when you have it ready.

You should ask yourself what your realistic overall budget will be. Then plan your systematic and timed purchases to get there.

If I had your car and I wasn't allowed to sell it to buy an LS1.... I'd pay $1800 for a Weiand roots type supercharger w/intake. Not very expensive when you consider the value in it. Add some headers and some good valve springs.... that'll keep you happy till you have the 350 longblock ready.
