Default difference between 98+ formula and T/A

Im planning on buying a torch red 2000 Formula M6 and wanted to do a T/A conversion. Besides the obvious; hatch, front and rear bumpers, and skirts, turn signals; is there anything else different between the formulas and the T/A. The cloth seats are staying cause Im tired of leather and the hood will be replaced with either a raptor or mecham hood... I havent seen the car yet I hope it has T-tops

In a dr.phil style rant. No dont do it man. Instead of buying a formula maybe just buy a T/A. Its what you want anyways. Its cheaper than having to buy all those parts. Wait and find exactly what you want there are plenty of ducks in the pool just wait for right one to come by and catch it buy exactly what you want the are plenty still floating around pretty fresh. Not that there is anything wrong with a T/A. You guys have nicer spoilers but dont hack up a formula in the sake of just wanting a T/A.

Oh you covered it except i do believe that T/A have nicer seats and all they have t-tops

Just buy a T/A man... they're easier to find than Formulas. Leave the Formulas be.

The cloth seats are more comfortable in my opinion... I have both, I'd prefer cloth... but you could get anything in a Formula that you got in a T/A, with the exception of articulating seats. That was the only option that was T/A exclusive.

I wouldnt hack it up... the original parts would be kept in storage so I could return it to stock if I needed to. Im getting it for a really low price thru a friend cause the guy has alot debt and needs the cash so It might be cheaper to just make the Formula look like a T/A. Its really the same car anyway. Its a M6 so I think I would have to be retarded to pass it up. Maybe the simple formula look will grow on me but either way I would get the T/A hatch and spoiler.

I know the cloth seats are more comfy. I would keep them. The articulating T/A seats only come in leather... right? wow You must like purple cars... If you could find me a 00 Trans Am M6 with 78k for $7000 I would be all over it like a fat kid on a cake but its hard to find such a car for less than $10.000 so I'll settle for the Formula. If anyone would like to trade I would be interested. Nobody really answered my question yet. Guess I'll be comparing alot of photos....

I'm not into purple cars, I'm just into cars that are unique or odd

The Formula look grows on you.

But what you'd have to do is change the front and rear fascias, add the side skirts, and swap the entire hatch out for a T/A hatch.

Pretty simple then. I can set aside the formula stuff for when I want to sell it. If its going to hurt the resale value. I plan on modding it pretty heavily anyway so I doubt when Im done that the Trans Am bumbers are gonna be the killer on resale

I like the understated look of the Formula myself. To answer your question:
*Front bumper, turn signals driving lights
*Rear bumper
*Ground effects
*Rear hatch wing
*Standard t-tops (t-tops not standard on Formula until 02)
*Standard leather pwr 6 way driver seat, pwr locks, pwr windows, alarm system (until 02, Formulas had pwr options with alarm system as an option group, standard on 02 Formulas, including 6 way pwr drivers seat in cloth. IIRC leather was a $595 option.)
*Standard chrome 5 spoke wheels (optional on Formula, I think I paid $295)
*Rear tail light filler has Trans Am instead of Firebird
*WS6 package not available as option on 01 and 02 Formulas

I have seen a few pics of a formula with t/a hatch, rear, and skirts but stock front bumper that really caught my eye. It seems I caused a controversey with the formula purists. I had a 91 GTA and I really did like the 91 formula better than the GTA package. I think the 92 Firehawk turned me on to it

You are talking of taking a car thats production numbers are under 2000 per year and hacking it aprt and turning it into a T/A that stock for stock was a little slower than the Formula.

I am a Formula person, I would rather have the Formula and the sleeper look than the T/A. Plus all of the money you are going to have to dump into the conversion could make for some really nice power mods.
