That 'Red-Orange' color may not have been available with the WS6 RPO Code.
FYI, there's a thread up top in the Special Edition Vehicles forum that has the link to the email to get the car number.

Red Orange Metallic was not an available color for the WS6 in `98.
Check the RPO Sticker on the drivers door to confirm if it has the WS6 RPO
It must have WS9 W66 and WS6 to be a Formula WS6.
I have a WS6 Hood and have never claimed my car to be a real WS6.
My guess is it's a clone so just enjoy having a badass car that not everyone else has as long as you don't claim it to be a Real WS6 your fine.

Over in the WS6/Firehawk/Special Edition Cars section there is a post with the production breakdown of the 98 Formula WS6's. Good info there. Either way though even if it's not a real WS6, Cayenne Red/Red-Orange Metallic is pretty rare on the 98's.

WS6 on the RPO decal makes it real. Since your VIN# doesn't show up in the existing database, that pretty much confirms it's one of the missing RED cars. ROM was NOT available on WS6 in '98. Not sure if I've ever SEEN that color on ANY Firebird. No wonder, it was the rarest color in '98, more rare than even Purple or Gold. If your WS6 is that color (and not really RED), it must have been re-painted.

...and was looking at the totals, and for some reason didn't see the # for Purple. Must have been before my 1st coffee.

I wonder if a Puple Metallic Formula WS6 exists? Would doubt it but that'd be pretty cool. There used to be a real Gold 98 Formula WS6 in the town I live in. The Sport Gold Metallic on the Formula WS6 looked damn good.
